Light nose, not very bold, some agave/earth notes but not very much/complexity here. Pallet is earthy, minerality, light funkiness to it, some agave, overall pleasant, not going to blow you away in any regard but a decent sipper or mixer.
I’ve been known to add a little tequila to my homemade salsa. This would be the perfect tequila for it as it brings out so many of those traditional herbs and vegetables associated with a great salsa. On the nose I get jalapeño and bell peppers. It has an herbal nose but also throws in a little citrus such a lime and orange peel. The taste is also vegetal. With jalapeño and bell pepper. I do get some oak from the barrel but this is not a barrel bomb in the least. While it may be 10% Reposado and 10% Anejo, it isn’t highly influenced by those expressions. The ABV level brings out very nice sweet agave. Like the nose, it is herbal and has a mineral presence as well. Very nice mouthfeel and finish. It does have a lingering alcohol note but is still bring out flavors throughout the finish. I like what I am tasting from this brand and I hear and even higher proof blanco will be out soon. As a Fuerte Fanatic, I am looking forward to this.
Nose: musty/ lactic / mineral/ hint of smoke / earth Taste: agave cooked / vanilla/ peppermint/ earth/ mineral / banana/ apple/ lime / orange/ anise / lemongrass / tea / nutmeg/ tobacco/ cream soda Finish: watery wet mouth feel / lingering pepper and agave sweet notes This plata needs some more work. I’ve had the Pozition Edicion blanco and it was better. This blanco was smooth, but the nose was not good snd the taste, considering the higher sbv (46%) , just felt like there could have been a lot more bolder flavors.
Mouthfeel is nice and silky with cooked agave, citrus (like grapefruit mixed with sugar), cinnamon, slight anise, nice black pepper on the back end.
Pleasant nose with sweet cooked agave and citrus. A touch of licorice and grapefruit. Slight alcohol presence. Nice mouthfeel. Good viscosity. Again, agave and citrus dominate. Alcohol is present on the tongue and may overpower some of the other flavors. Larger sips help. I am getting jalapeño and black pepper. I would recommend this tequila as just a sipper but I also think it would make a banging mixed drink.
Nice upgrade over the plata, nose & pallet have wayy more going on, agave, cinnamon/anise, herbal notes, some fruitiness, earthy, spices, just classic beautiful tequila.Definitely fills in gaps over the plata, an easy choice for me!
