Xolo Repo is aged for a minimum of 3 months in an American oak pipon barrel. The nose is nice. The vegetal agave punches through but it brings some light barrel spices with it. There’s still some sweetness and just a tad of alcohol vapors. The oak pipon gives it some caramel and natural vanilla scents but they are subtle. The cooked agave and vegetal earthiness from the blanco still shine through. Like all Xolo expressions, this Repo comes in a 1 liter bottle and it’s 46% ABV - 92 proof. - Xolo Repo is the type of Reposado that I enjoy the most. The agave is still front and center. The main characteristics of the blanco are still intact but they are slightly muted by some additional flavors. The oak adds some additional sweetness and spices. There’s some cinnamon and light caramel along with a touch of capsaicins. - The finish is sweet and spicy. The agave sweetness and barrels spices linger on the palate with the spice ultimately lasting linger. This is an excellent Highland Reposado! Great job Ernesto!

This tequila has a pale gold color with a full bodied profile. The aroma is a captivating blend of caramel, honey, cooked agave, citrus notes, cinnamon, barrel spice, butterscotch and almonds. To fully appreciate the flavor profile of this tequila, we suggest allowing it to breathe for a few minutes since is a high proof reposado. The flavors will start with a sweet taste of cooked agave while showcasing a light and warm sensation of fruity nuances. The taste then evolves into notes of grapefruit, orange, baking spices, toasted almonds, caramel, oak, whiskey, clove and a subtle astringency that keeps you wanting more. The overall complexity of the profile ranges from medium to high, offering an approachable yet engaging drinking experience packed with flavor. Xolo Tequila is also committed to supporting dog charities and just launched a new tshirt as well so check them out!

Nose: Caramel and chocolate come through first, giving it a dessert like sweetness that’s immediately inviting. Cooked agave comes next - followed by an earthy, vegetal savoriness that cuts right through the sweetness, keeping it balanced. A hint of musty oak from the pipón barrels adds an old world character that’s really intriguing. Palate & Mouthfeel: Interestingly, the oak is more pronounced on the nose than the palate. What really shines here is the agave - it’s bright, bold, and front and center. Backed up by rich notes of cooked sugars- think caramel and crème brûlée. The floral hints from the nose carry over gently, and that chocolate note transforms into more of a bitter cacao, which adds great contrast. A lively peppery kick brings in that classic high proof heat. Finish: There’s definitely a bit of ethanol burn on the finish as you’d expect from a high proof, but it’s well placed. It cuts through the sweetness and rounds things out without overwhelming. The balance here is key. Final Thoughts: Yum. Seriously. This one hits all the right notes; agave forward, sweet but grounded, with just enough heat to keep you on your toes.

This bottle is from 2021. Pipon number 1 and bottle 120. There are a couple of well done reviews and I agree with them While this is not Don Fulano Imperial, this is very good. Look for it. I found this at a local liquor store covered in dust. It’s an odd tall bottle with some orange labeling. Not tremendously appealing. The tequila is worth the discovery.

Good reposado, very clean and easy to drink. 1 liter bottle a plus but still a little pricey.
