Nice nose of cooked agave. This is herbal and vegetal. I get licorice, green apple and orange. A bit of alcohol. On the palate, it is a delicious sip. Still get all of those earthy notes. Grass, vegetal, rosemary, jalapeño. Get some cinnamon and orange. Long finish. This is a keeper.
Vessel: CT HP Jarrito Nose: Agave, Vegetal, Earthy, Nutty, Herbal, Anise, Mint, Floral Palate: Agave, Cinnamon, Chocolate, Must Finish: Brine, Sea Salt, Cinnamon, Vegetal Wow! There is so much going on here, it's insane! Not a single note is half-assed or muted in the slightest. From nose to finish, these bright flavors sing with enthusiasm. Phenomenal nose that walks the walk on the palate all the way to the finish. Simply put, this is a hone run that a lot of folks are sleeping on.
I was fortunate to try this tequila at sabor y cultura LA summer 2024, and I've been waiting for it to be released! I will follow up with my tasting notes when I try it again (waiting for my shipment). all I noted from Sabor is "this is amazing! 90 pts! best Xolo expression so far!"
Aroma: raw material on the nose, very green, eucalyptus, mint, savory, light floral Flavor: very complex, a lot of flavor here-subtle tropical, grilled pineapple, savory notes: corn, sweet potato, some brine- it is a 101 HP- the more it sits the more the flavors pop- definitely a tequila to sit with & enjoy all the flavors. Finish: long-the flavors linger- viscous $76.99
Special release, 1000, 700ml bottles produced. Absolutely enjoyable
This limited edition still strength bottle has been beautifully etched. Only 1000 were produced. 50.69% ABV, 101+ proof, 700ml. This was made with agaves from El Arenal in Tequila Valley. They fermented with fibers and the tequila rested in stainless steel for 2 years. While this tequila was produced in the southern highlands it has many aromas from the valley agaves they used. The nose is full of earthy and vegetal notes. There are some strong herbal notes of sage and rosemary. The cooked agave punches through along with some limestone and pleasant alcohol vapors. There are some fainter notes of cilantro and lemon zest. Let this one open up. This one has a bold taste. The cooked agave sweetness punched through but it’s accompanied by the herbal notes that are present in the nose. The alcohol delivers a nice intensity of flavors. This one is savory and full-bodied. Some fresh jalapeno shows up right before the finish. The finish lingers due to the higher proof. The agave sweetness is there but the herbs and minerals last the longest. Overall this is a bold but cohesive and balanced still strength blanco. This is a fun sipper but I’m tempted to make a killer ranch water with it. It’s worth buying if you find one if you like high-proof blancos.
Sample from Agave Swappers Nose: I'm not sure exactly how to describe it. It's much more "fresh" smelling than I'm used to and I don't pick up much cooked agave from it. More of a pear or green apple crispness. Flavor: The flavor definitely leads with cooked agave followed by some pear notes and some light smokiness. The finish is pretty traditional with some black pepper, but I can still pick up pear or green apple notes. Overall it's not my favorite profile, but it's definitely unique and actually quite refreshing. I can certainly appreciate the complexity! It's something I feel like I'd really enjoy on a hot summer day.
Very good. Tried at Sabor Y Cultura Chicago. Will be released soon. Tons of agave and herbalness. Very tasty.
Nose: Strong aromas, herbal, earthy, mineral, and cooked agave in your face! Followed by pepper, green apple and light funk. Palate: Great flavors, very bold, very similar to the nose, with added citrus and vegetal! Finish: medium-long Only 1000 bottles produced! Must try!
XOLOITZCUINTLE FUERTE VALLES - A high proof’s high proof. Another purchase from Kenny 18 in Atlanta where they carry the entire lineup. Nose - Cooked agave, vegetal, hay (I notice that in a lot of tequilas that are fermented with fibers), mint and earth. Minerals and pepper. Palate - So much flavor! Sweet agave and herbs. Mint and cinnamon. That agave really cuts through in this and finishes with a really nice, peppery heat. I really like the regular Plata, but this Fuerte is on a whole other level.
Agave swap Nose: nutty/almond/walnut, cooked agave, lemon/lime, slight minerality, earth Taste: cooked agave, nutty, white pepper, citrus, minerality Finish: white pepper, lime, spearmint, brine Really unlike anything else. 1000% worth a taste however you can get it
Now, this can hold its own against the best. The taste profile is an experience, and most definitely worth a try.
excellent! Big beautiful nose of sweet cooked agave, plum, green herbs, slightly metallic. Mouthfeel has nice viscosity to it. on the palate is plenty of agave, some sweet stone fruit. anise. quite herbaceous with eucalyptus and mint. has some pleasant heat that prolongs the finish but otherwise goes down very easily for being just over 100 proof. I am enjoying this bottle very much and finding more complexity with each pour.
On the nose I get a lot of cooked agave some earth and gravel. Taste sweet and a little sour with a great cooked agave Finish is long and spicy
