Known internally as "The Big Bang" this is lote 01. This amps the regular Blanco to 11. Entry is smooth and then explodes in the mouth with as much roast agave as I can recall from recent high proof offerings. Natural sweetness dominates and then eases into a long lingering finish. Well done.
The Reposado uses champagne yeast unlike the 2 unaged products which use ambient yeast and is aged around 5 months in MM barrels as is the Añejo. Some caramel and cinnamon initially with some hints of vanilla and oak from the barrel, this has nicely integrated flavor carried by the ethanol.
Tasted at the distillery on BAT in the cava. This is a new NOM that seems to be doing things the right way. Agave are sourced from Guanajuato. Añejo is aged to no more than 16 months in former Maker's Mark barrels plus I saw some other Beam product barrels in the warehouse.
