Vanilla on the nose and cinnamon on the palate
Sample provided by Tequila Diva. Tropical fruity right off the bat. Interesting sipper. I would buy this for when I want a fruity cocktail or for offering to someone who isn’t sure if they like tequila.
I tried this at Hacienda El Olvido in Jesus Maria with Fransisco, owner of the distillery. I gave a few minutes on the nose and thought, "Man, I really hope the rest of this experience has more to say." it felt a bit bland. I maybe got some grassy notes and a vague hint of sweetness, but not much else. On the palate, I got some vanilla, lime, and grassy notes, and on the finish, I got a stronger vanilla, honey anise, and black pepper. Conclusion: While the nose was lacking, I found that this tequila got adequate redemption by the time it rested on the palate and into the finish. For me, this wasn't mind-blowing, but still a decent tequila, and one that's fair at the price point. Francisco is also a super cool, kind, and hospitable dude. I am thankful to him for the opportunity and for Christine (TequilaDiva) for pulling the strings to make it happen. Salud!
Nose has some agave but balanced with barrel notes of oak and spice with a subtle honey cinnamon note. Taste is light agave and again balanced with oak, carmel, all spice, and a slight cherry cola note that ends with a peppery bite that hangs around.
