Nose has some agave but balanced with barrel notes of oak and spice with a subtle honey cinnamon note. Taste is light agave and again balanced with oak, carmel, all spice, and a slight cherry cola note that ends with a peppery bite that hangs around.

Funny that all ratings are panel members, must be shenanigans…naw, lol. Softer than the Aguasol Reposado just tasted, this has a different barrel influence applied that makes this very approachable for some craft whiskey drinkers looking for a tequila to move to. Natural sweetness and some well integrated barrel spice finish on a nice sweet note and some tip of tongue numbing.

acre largo repo lote 1 let it open like 30 mins!!!! i really enjoy the nose. fruit, banana, at first i got some malalactic notes, but after it opened, that went away. got cinnamon, barrel spices, some grassiness, honey, caramel, creme brule palate is cooked agave, whiskey, mellow, apricot, sweet Finish medium warm Legs nice thick Overall, this is an enjoyable reposado, complex and balanced, at a reasonable price I would like to try this side-by-side with the Westward Whiskey (the barrels it was aged in)

This Reposado is coming out of Jesus Maria in the Highlands of Jalisco, NOM1580. It spent eight months in American Oak Single Malt whiskey barrels that were procured from Westward Whiskey in Portland, Oregon. WOW, interesting nose! These barrels had a definite impact on this Reposado. I’m simultaneously getting cooked agave and a grassy note. There’s some light barrel spice and raw honey notes. These some light stone fruit and even a hint of sage. It’s a complex but balanced nose that’s lightly kissed by some agave and barrel sweetness. The time in the barrel is evident on the palate. The barrel spices are up front but balanced out by the cooked agave. The agave gives a nice caramel sweetness while the barrel provides some dry spices on the peppery side. There’s a faint hint of the grassy note from the nose. The agave and barrel spice are equal while the sweetness is present but secondary. It’s a nice Reposado at an excellent price.

A great reposado for mixing into cocktails and sipper if it needs to be. Citric on the nose. The tequila is warm and inviting from the first sip. Lots of roasted agaves and finishes with notes of honey.

Less agave aroma and flavor than I would have hoped for a reposado, with hints of caramel and vanilla maybe butterscotch. Viscous and barrel notes.
