Nose: The nose is solid. Agave, minerals, vegetal notes, green pepper and mint. Palate: Very easy to drink with a light mouth feel. Agave, almost like a touch of honey, citrus, and mint. Finish: Nice lingering black pepper along the gums. This is a great starter for the night. Nothing spectacular but very enjoyable. Would throw this in a margarita, but I don’t drink cocktails.

Nose: The agave comes through clearly, but it’s not your typical sweet or citrusy kind. There’s a strong mineral edge and a funky, almost cheesy note - like blue cheese stuffed green olives. Fresh mint and a bit of earthy, green vegetable round things out. It smells bold and a little wild. Palate & Mouthfeel: The texture is light but smooth, almost slippery. You still get the cooked agave, but now it’s joined by mint, black pepper, and a bit of anise. There’s a noticeable orange note that adds brightness and keeps it from feeling too heavy. That malolactic funk softens here, but the olive brine sticks around, keeping things interesting. Finish: Crisp and fresh. The mint gives it a cooling feel, while the pepper adds just a little heat. It fades out clean, without any cloying sweetness or artificial notes. Final Thoughts: What a funky little gem. Offbeat in all the right ways and full of character. Shame it’s no longer being made, because this one had something special. Glad I got the chance to try it.

Glass: Reidel Tequila Flute Nose: Figs, Raisin, Cinnamon, Oak, Agave, Apricot Palate: Oak, Cinnamon, Nutmeg/Barrel Spice Finish: Oak, Carmel, Vanilla, Herbal, Baking Spice Since trying the De La Riva Blanco, which really blew me away, I had to give this a go. Dried fruit is the dominant theme of this one, for sure! I also got lots of oak and barrel spice! This one is loud and absolutely full of character. It's really a shame they stopped producing it!

Nose: Berries, Malolactic, Agave, Mint, Herbs Anise, and Orange Blossom Mouthfeel: light-bodied, crisp Palate: Minerality, Alcohol, berries Finish: Distinct Blueberry, Pepper, Agave, Minerality This was such a wild ride of a tequila. I got flavors that I never seem to pick up on. The blueberry and malolactic notes and seemed to compliment each other very well. The blue berry remained prevalent to the very end and had a touch of minerality throughout.

Outstanding value. Lots going on on here for a light repo. Worth hunting down. The añejo is the star of the line, but yes, a solid budget friendly line for sure.
