The representative for Milagro says this is gently rested for 30 days in American and French oak. If that’s the only thing touching this tequila, I am a fan. Really good all around.

The aroma is notes of caramel, whiskey, and vanilla, complemented by oak. There is a distinct grape/cherry cough syrup medicinal tone that mingles with alcohol, creating a slight astringent bitterness. The taste unfolds with layers of oak, chocolate, caramel, and whiskey. The agave’s prune note is present, but an off-putting cherry medicinal note and alcohol stand out. There are buttery undertones, hints of banana, a slight astringency, tobacco, and cooked sweet potato, all woven together with a noticeable but tolerable alcohol presence. On the exit, there is a slight spice and medicinal note, intertwined with vanilla, banana, and tobacco hints that linger during the fade, all wrapped up with a touch of butterscotch.
