NOM 1559 | The aroma is notes of caramel, whiskey, and vanilla, complemented by oak. There is a distinct grape/cherry cough syrup medicinal tone that mingles with alcohol, creating a slight astringent bitterness. The taste unfolds with layers of oak, chocolate, caramel, and whiskey. The agave’s prune note is present, but an off-putting cherry medicinal note and alcohol stand out. There are buttery undertones, hints of banana, a slight astringency, tobacco, and cooked sweet potato, all woven together with a noticeable but tolerable alcohol presence. On the exit, there is a slight spice and medicinal note, intertwined with vanilla, banana, and tobacco hints that linger during the fade, all wrapped up with a touch of butterscotch.

NOM 1559 | Odd nose, not much of a nose to it. Palate isn’t terrible but definitely not something I’m grabbing for

aroma and flavor where nothing exceptional, but were not bad. aroma shows more than expected with agave, oak and some citrus spice. flavor did not have much depth, but the aroma carries through. light - medium mouth feel with a very short finish. average reposado at a very good price point

NOM 1559 | Was not crazy about this repo, very different nose and finish. Not my flavor profile. Would not recommend this as a sipper, perhaps as a cocktail base

NOM 1559 | Nose: Caramel, earthiness, baked agave, cinnamon and cloves. This delivered more than I expected. Flavors: Thin in the mouth. Pepper and sugary sweetness. This loses some of the subtlety of the nosing. Finish quickly fades away with no fanfare.

NOM 1559 | Still hot and punchy, just with some vanilla in tow. Not worthy of a place in the home collection but great for cocktails.

Rated blind. I think the marketing is better than the product. Not bad, not great, just average.

NOM 1420 | Bottle date is 2004. Caramel and oak blend with agave in this older Milagro offering. Glad for some good fitting natural corks, newer brands could learn something.

Understated flavors and aroma of agave, oak and citrus. Body a bit thin and finish a bit short. Priced right. ($28)

Agave still underlies the aroma but barrel characteristics of caramel and chocolate show up subtly...nice.

Review #222 - Milagro Tequila Reposado

Milagro is a big brand that can be found anywhere. For a person in the northern US, that is a real determining factor because too often stores have 20 or fewer total tequilas, it's a bonus when you can find something good and reasonably priced.
