Nose: agave (raw) / smoke/ pepper/ lime/ lemongrass / orange peel / salt-brine Taste: sweet agave / cinnamon/ vanilla/ mineral/ banana/ cinnamon/ pear / melon/ grapefruit/ anise / cream soda Finish: very very light viscosity with a lingering agave sweetness and a very mild pepper and anise after taste. Super clean and enjoyable finish. This blanco is so sweet and delicious while being refreshing and giving a great finish. This could be a blanco sipper all day and turn into a great cocktail mixer, sort of like Superman switching back and forth from Clark Kent. It’s real superhero power is that it’s impossible to beat for the price!!!
Tasted in a Riedel tequila glass Nice nose of agave, vanilla and oak. Citrusy with some fruity tones. I get cinnamon and caramel. Good barrel on the nose. Taste is agave forward. Nice dose of pepper and then barrel notes of oak, vanilla and caramel. Finish has an alcohol forward profile. Good repo.
A true libation: The aroma presents a delightful blend of red apples, juicy pineapple, rich honey, smooth caramel, a hint of whiskey/bourbon, bright citrus, light ethyl and a whisper of floral essence. On the palate, it unfolds into a symphony of flavors: prominent honey, warm oak, creamy butterscotch, subtle whiskey undertones, velvety cacao, cherry cordials, barrel spice, plum and a medley of dried fruit. A gentle caress of nearly indiscernible pepper enhances these flavors, harmonizing beautifully and culminating in a pleasing salivation on the tongue. The distinct culmination is found in the finish, where light wood and vanilla with caramel notes persist, accompanied by a gentle fade of prune, minerality, brown sugar, and a hint of cinnamon.
Nose: agsve / caramel / vanilla/ butter/ pear / tea / lavender/ hint of chocolate/ cream soda Taste: sweet agave / mint / caramel/ vanilla / cinnamon/ banana / melon/ orange peel/ spearmint/ tea / nutmeg/ hint of chocolate / cream soda Finish: low viscosity mouthfeel with a lingering sweet and minty freshness. Clean rain water taste. This reposado is very good. It’s a bottle that fights way above it’s budget class and delivers. Siete Leguas is often overlooked because it’s so budget friendly, but I think it would shock people on what other brands it’d beat in a blind.
Nose: sweet agave / vanilla ! / caramel/ butter / banana/ grapefruit/ mint / tea / nutmeg/ butterscotch/ chocolate/ Taste: sweet agave / vanilla / pepper / earth/ caramel/ banana/ lime/ tea / nutmeg / butterscotch/ Finish: very low viscosity / nice quick clean finish with some lingering vanilla / very smooth This anejo is so good for the money!! It’s good vs. much higher cost anejos. The agave is a big taste note and stands out over the barrel notes, but it’s all there and working harmoniously. Very smooth and drinkable every day.
Nose: agave sweetness/black pepper/apple/citrus/alcohol Taste: agave very sweet (effect of criollo)/ black pepper / apple/ citrus/ earth/ minerals Finish: super clean slightly watery finish / dissapates quickly but the sweet overcomes all other flavors at the finish The sweetness of the criollo Blue Weber is the hero in this story. It’s sweet on the frontend and backend. There’s a peppery and slightly earthy balance to the criollo deliciousness. It’s 2 strong notes: sweet and black pepper. That’s a limited harmony, but it works well. A touch pricey for this level of taste but I’d easily recommend it for someone who hasn’t had a tequila made with the young delicious criollo.
Sorting through the options can be overwhelming, which is why we always opt to trust the experts. To get their take on a workhorse option, we asked bartenders to share with us their go-to tequilas.

The 12 finalists are tequilas that offer vibrant and varied aromas and flavors with good texture and a pleasing aftertaste.

Master distiller Francisco Alcaraz crafted the agave spirit that changed tequila forever. A global expansion could undo his legacy.
Nice nose of agave and milk chocolate. Carmel and vanilla. Taste is agave forward followed by pepper, vanilla and caramel. A touch of banana on the tongue. Clean finish with medium viscosity. Another good tequila from 7 Leguas.
