I really wanted to hate this as I do with pretty much all cristilinos, I think it’s gimmicky, but this actually was ok. They claim it is additive-free along with all of their lineup. Aged 24 months in ex-Jack Daniels barrels. The nose was very muted, subtle sweetness, a little oak. The palette has some black pepper, oakiness, starts out with some citrus and finishes with barrel notes.
A very solid anejo especially for the price. Aged 18 months in ex-Jack Daniels barrels. On the nose I get cola, cream soda and honey. The palette has similar characteristics with a “flat Coca Cola” taste. The finish is fairly short but pleasant.
Pretty solid. Aged in ex-Jack Daniels barrels. On the nose I get honey, chocolate, cinnamon and a little cola. The palette has similar characteristics with a bit of nuttiness and vanilla with a tasty finish.
A decent blanco, nothing overly remarkable. On the nose I get a bit of citrus, anise, lactic funk and sweetness. Palette has black pepper, anise and lemon. Finish is fairly muted.
What’s a great blanco tequila at an affordable price? To figure that out, we put 6 well-priced blancos in a blind tasting and gave them to members of the Tequila Matchmaker Tasting Panel.
