First observation is how light this is for an XA. Next, the aroma has a surprisingly strong vegetal note. It is almost a combination of raw and cooked agave. Flavor has a complexity that is also subtle in the variety of notes - baking spices, dried fruits, caramel. Long finish. This is a top tier XA that absolutely does not veer into bourbon territory. Definitely my preference. 2023-12-24 2023 Annual Christmas Eve XA Tasting

Like the blanco, the aroma is filled with cooked agave but some barrel notes (cinnamon/baking spice). Maybe a bit of minerality and citrus. Flavor opens with cinnamon and pepper spice. Then a wave of sweet fruit follows and creates something special. The finish is medium length. Both the blanco and reposado for this brand are really nice. 12/18/2023

Great aroma (classic blanco) - agave is upfront and the star of the show. Also, strong vegetal and citrus notes. Crisp and clean…very nice. Everything carries over to the flavor - crisp open of agave and citrus that evolves into a peppery heat that is present but not overwhelming. Medium finish that lingers in a great way. 12/18/2023

Lote #2 Nose: Hints of barrel and cookie spice. Ripe fruit and agave with a sprinkle of fine pepper. Tropical fragrances : guava, mango, pineapple, plantain and citrus. Lightly floral. A touch of caramel. The aromas take some coaxing before revealing themselves. Flavor: Whereas the nose was a bit timid, the first sip delivers a full punch of flavor. Cinnamon stick, warming pepper and big agave. Viscous with a salty umami note - causing the whole mouth to salivate. The individual tropical elements found in the aroma merge into background secondary impressions. Trace fennel and dill emerge in the finish. This straight forward reposado has a creamy softness that makes it an easy sipper.
