Delicious. What can I say that hasn’t already been reiterated?
I have tasted through lots 1.2,& 3 very similar flavor profile. Agave forward, light wood notes, sweetness, vanilla, caramel and baking spice.
Nose: agave / pepper / earth / hint of cinnamon/ vanilla/ hint of pear : orange peel / spearmint/ floral Taste: sweet cooked agave / vanilla/ cinnamon/ peppermint/ banana / apple/ lime / orange peel / licorice/ spearmint/ tea / nutmeg/ cream soda Finish: cool water / wet and clean / non-viscous mouthfeel/ smooth and easy sipper / lingering agave sweetness throughout the whole taste / nice cream soda and light mint finishing notes on last swallow This blanco is deliciously delicate but still has great flavors and aromas. The sweetness is the big deal here; it’s the predominant taste, but the delicate flavors and balance with the other flavors make this blanco great. There are cinnamon and peppermint notes that are background performers on this stage. Delicate, but delicious.
Nice nose if agave, earth, citrus and pipe tobacco. The taste is sweet agave and black pepper. I get some fruit and baking spices. Nice finish with a touch of alcohol on the finish. I prefer the blanco but this is good.
Absolutely love the nose on this one. Agave and fresh flowers. Citrus and fruits. The taste is fabulous as well. Agave and pepper with citrus and minerals. A touch of flowers and mint. My only knock is the name. Wild Commons sounds English and I think tequila should have a proper name. Won’t keep me from buying it or drinking it though. This is mighty fine juice!
Nose: cooked agave / earth / minerals / vegetal / herbal / melon / banana/ malolactic/ bell pepper/ oregano Taste: sweet cooked agave / vanilla/ pepper/ cinnamon/ banana/ pineapple/ melon / touch of orange peel/ lemongrass/ peppermint/ nutmeg/ honey / cream soda/ Finish: very slight viscous mouthfeel that remains clean and crisp/ river water end notes/ lingering hint of minty freshness This still strength is 50 abv, but drinks like a much lower alcohol content tequila. The tastes are all very bold (as expected with a higher proof) but the harmony and balance are there….no one taste taking the lead. The earthy, mineral, vegetal notes may not be for everyone. The malolactic funk smell is also not something everyone cares for.
While aficionados tend to prefer blanco tequilas, and imbibers of dark spirits usually gravitate towards añejos, the reposado category is often overlooked.
