Lote 03 | Agave bomb! This one punches you in the face with so much cooked sweet agave. For being 100 proof there is little burn. I would actually call it a warm hug. Nose: sweet cooked agave, minerals, vegetal, citrus, black pepper, mint, brine, herbal. Palate: sweet cooked agave, black pepper, mint, minerals, vegetal, citrus, anise, brine, herbal. The finish is long with a great oily feel. A very enjoyable sipper that is packed full of sweet cooked agave.
Lote 03 | Delicious. What can I say that hasn’t already been reiterated?
More herbaceous than Wild Common’s blanco offering. Herbal, anise, mint, agave, citrus. Long tingly finish.
Lote 03 | Nose: cooked agave / earth / minerals / vegetal / herbal / melon / banana/ malolactic/ bell pepper/ oregano Taste: sweet cooked agave / vanilla/ pepper/ cinnamon/ banana/ pineapple/ melon / touch of orange peel/ lemongrass/ peppermint/ nutmeg/ honey / cream soda/ Finish: very slight viscous mouthfeel that remains clean and crisp/ river water end notes/ lingering hint of minty freshness This still strength is 50 abv, but drinks like a much lower alcohol content tequila. The tastes are all very bold (as expected with a higher proof) but the harmony and balance are there….no one taste taking the lead. The earthy, mineral, vegetal notes may not be for everyone. The malolactic funk smell is also not something everyone cares for.
Lote 02 | Nose: RICH caramelized agave and brown sugar from the start. Buttery vanilla with hints of mixed nuts. Mild Fruit. Does not smell like 50% abv in a great way. Palate: Nice mouth feel with plenty of depth. Same as the nose, RICH caramelized agave and sugar. Finish goes on and on. Imagine a rich agave buttery pastry with caramelized sugar drizzled on top. Heck of a pour!
Lote 03 | Strong cooked agave on the nose and palette. The cooked agave shines with hints of anise, cinnamon, citrus and minerals. A long oily finish. At $90 dollars a bit pricey
Lote 03 | Beautiful sweet agave on the nose. I get citrus with some lime and minerals. A touch of mint and some black pepper. The taste if foremost cooked agave followed by black pepper minerals and a touch of alcohol heat. I get more citrus and mint on the nose than taste. I do get a long alcohol finish. This is a very good HP and one that I can easily recommend.
Nose: Cooked agave layered charcoal and smoke with subtle hints of olive Flavor: Great traditional agave with a smooth buttery feel, deep charred caramel and butterscotch, vanilla and oak presence, and herbal notes of basil and black tea
Lote 02 | Lote 02 S. This blanco sips very smoothly for 50 ABV. I got very little heat after I let it open up for 20 minutes or so. This has a beautiful aroma of cooked agave and minerals, with hints of mint. The flavor has a lot of complexity and the finish is long and lovely.
A punch in the face of minerality on the nose. Soil, wet stone, roots Stone, apricot, some honey A lovely finish, warm, oily mouthfeel, sits in the stomach
Lote 01 | Cooked agave followed by pepper, citrus, and anis. Light minerality. Excellent
Nose: Agave, Minerality, Wet Cement, Mint, Herbal, Anise, Thyme and Black Pepper Mouthfeel: Medium to Full-Bodied Palate: Herbal, Bitter, Mineralaity, Black Pepper Finish: Herbs, Wet Cement, Floral and Minerality, Vegetal, Black Pepper Oooff! The flavor in this one is just second to none. Off the cuff, you've got that fresh rain-on-the-pavement/right- before-it-snows scent that the Cascahuin distillery is known (and loved) for; along with some cooked agave, and possibly some thyme. The viscosity is perfectly full-bodied; thick and oily goodness. The finish is wildy herbaceous with cooked agave, anise, thyme, and black pepper. Such a smooth and lingering finish with minimal burn. To me, from the nose to finish, this one really stops you in your tracks. Absolutely Phenomenal! To date, I'm convinced that Wild Common SS is my favorite of the Still Strength/HP Blanco releases out of 1123. It might be my favorite HP/SS, period. I said what I said.
Lote 01 | Wow! Great stuff. We love all things Cascahuín in our house. This is great and different than Plata 48. Aroma is Amazing! Typical Blanco from 1123 with mineral notes (wet cement) and sweet agave. But this Wild Common also has some bright fruit on the aroma—strawberries, maybe mango. There’s a creaminess that plata 48 doesn’t have. Taste and finish are excellent. This is one of the best and most fun blancos to sip.
Lote 02 | On the nose, so much in your face agave. Minerals. Citrus rind, grapefruit. Herbal. Very good. On the palate, that agave punch really comes through. A touch more vegetal than the lot 1, but also warmer. A bit of cinnamon, some ripe fruit but not overripe funk. I’m really torn between this and lot 1. The original had a little bit of a better nose for me, bur I think I prefer the taste on this second lot. Either way, this is exceptional. Truly amazing craftsmanship. King of the valle for me.
Lote 02 | Nose: Mint, salt, olive, anise, cooked agave, limestone, earth, very complex Palate: Heat, pepper, agave BOMB, sweetness, touch of alcohol but not bothersome, even some chocolate, not to mention it’s like you’re in the room with the tahona! Finish: Minerality on the tongue, long finish and peppery :) Another banger!
Lote 02 | One of my favorite still strengths!!!
LOTE 2 - S 321 020123 50%ABV Initial nasal impact is warming and fruity. Slight prickle (especially for 50%abv). Wow. So clean. Cooked agave, melon, fresh water ice out of a stream, citrus, fruit. Great viscosity on the mouthfeel, very buttery with generous alcohol. Woah. This is zero to 60 in 3.2 seconds. Absolute pinball game on the flavor. Caramelized cooked agave, if a jalapeno pepper and a fresh fennel bulb had a baby, incredible honeydew melon coolness - especially on the retro nasal, pepper, honey and butter. Yes butter. Flavor lasts all day long. Super long finish (why I love still strength) highlights the jalapeno/fennel, honey and melon. This is sitar music and Rammstein combined in every sip. Chava is a genius
LOTE270 050822 RESTED 10 MINUTES N- Whoa. an initial blast of alcohol but then poof it's gone. Black pepper, agave, olive, stewed fruit, briny minerality, a touch floral. T- Peppery heat, quickly dissipating alcohol, jalapeno, black pepper, dill, mint, overripe mango, and a little funk. So good and dangerous at 100 proof. MF- Medium which is impressive for the proof F- Long lasting mango sweetness and some delicious black pepper heat V- This was a gift from a friend and it's not available in Michigan but if I purchased online I'd still occasionally pay for this treat. The regular Blanco is great and this version is even better!
Much like smelling salts can "snap you to", this Lote 1 is a punch to the taste buds. Raw agave on the tongue, black pepper, anise, minerals, and heat (in a great way). This would be great if you're willing to mix in a cocktail, hard to justify at the price. This is an amazing tequila
Lote 02 | Lote 2-S Nose: A big assault of agave. Minerals, grapefruit rind and a light juniper berry aroma. A handful of Italian herbs and mintiness. Flavor: Oily, peppery and enticing. Melting brown sugar dusted with cinnamon. Citrus and ripe mango, and of course big bold agave. Coats the tongue with a buttery, long fading finish.
Lote 02 | Licorice, graham cracker, sea foam
Lote 02 | Long, warm, complex. Lote 2 / Exceptional tequila.
Great high proof Blanco! Taste/aroma of agave, minerals, mint, citrus with light pepper. Nice warm finish, you wouldn't know it's 100 proof!
Lote 01 | Beautiful nose and palate. Nice finish. A well rounded blanco.
High-proof tequilas, once only for hardcore drinkers, are now being released at a steady pace. Why?

Lote 03 | Blind: Herbal and vegetal! Lot 3 might not be my favorite but I still love you Wild Common. Will have to revisit.
