Nose: vanilla/ caramel/ butter / faint fruit note / hint of citrus-orange / tea / baking spice / nutmeg/ chocolate/ molasses/ Taste: oak / vanilla/ caramel/ baking spice / hint of fruit / orange peel / tea / hint of spearmint/ chocolate/ molasses/ cream soda Finish: low viscosity mouthfeel/ not much texture…doesn’t coat the palate/ lingering oak bitterness fights to be dominant; some sips are sweeter than others, but the imbalance and lingering bitterness really take the wheel on this drive. This anejo has some good notes on the nose and the sweetness of vanilla and caramel try to fight back, but the oak is the lead actor in this performance, and it’s not interested in sharing the stage with the other tastes.

Like the other two expressions, the nose on this is nice. Barrel notes are first and foremost. I am getting oak, caramel and vanilla. A little banana. Other fruits. On the palate, a bit of a letdown from the nose. This is where you first get some agave but I also get fruits, including the banana on the nose. The finish is better than the two other expressions and of the three this is my favorite. Still it is pricey and has a lot of competition. Thank you Tequila Diva for the sample.

i got some vanilla, mild barrel spices, oak and fruit. palate is similar to nose. like the blanco and repo, the palate is more subtle than the nose. finish was a bit longer than the other two expressions. curious how it would taste if it wasn't carbon filtered. overall beautiful, classy bottle, decent sipper. tho price was reduced from $126 to $96, it's still a bit high for a 40abv anejo.

Rested in American oak for 1 year. Welcoming fruity nose. Agave, anise, fruit, vanilla, oak, and mild spices. Pricey.

The aromas are nice. The flavor is very light. The description includes “carbon filtration”. I don’t know if that is eliminating the flavors and complexities. Price point is high. The bottles are really lovely. I hope that isn’t contributing to the cost.

Probably my favorite of the three. Getting plenty agave and oak on the Anejo not sure why the repo sample that I got seemed a bit stronger in a sense of oak to agave balance. The barrel definitely gave this some baking spices, vanilla, and slight earthiness. The finish is short to medium, not too bad.

Nose: Some ethanol with more pronounced baking spices. A little more sweet/saccharine than savory. Faint barrel/wood/earthy notes. Taste/Finish: Basically two notes - barrel + sweet. The agave is almost completely drowned out. It almost works better since the barreling is meant to add some artificial notes. More pronounced vanilla. Lacks character.

Vessel: Glencairn Nose: Agave, Oak/Barrell notes, Vanilla, Baking Spices, Faint Banana Mouthfeel: Light to medium Bodied Palate: Cinnamon, Banana, Vanilla Finish: Banana, Cinnamon, Almond, Vanilla Of all the Agua de Mexico expressions, this one was my favorite. I got notes that were not entirely obscured by the bitterness of the finish. I gotvfruit and baking spices. I found this to be much more enjoyable than the Repo Or Blanco.
