Taking the tequila ocho approach and showing off the terrior. Look- with a straw like color the legs form extremely slow Mouthfeel- nice and viscous on the palette Nose- nice cooked agave, minerals little barrel spices, pepper Taste- cooked agave and minerals upfront that flow into a nice vanilla/caramel on top of pitted fruit with a spearmint and brine towards the end before finishing with a white pepper overlay. This has a medium to long finish, the agave shines through and is enjoyable if you like mineral taste in The tequila . Not much heat but enough to say this is pretty damn good.

Nose: Delicately light baking spices: cinnamon, anise, nutmeg, and vanilla. Tropical floral aromas. Gobs of agave. Melon, mango and mandarin peel. Subtle mineral presence. Only the faintest hints of barrel notes. Flavor: A punch of jalapeño and cinnamon heat. The luxuriously, velvety texture tames the introductory pepper pop. Mouthwatering salinity and fruit. Esophageal warmth accompanies the journey. While I can’t specifically call out individual barrel notes, barreling is evident in this rounder, more finished profile.

Aroma, cooked agave, pepper, spice, light sandalwood, vanilla. Flavor of agave, brown sugar, light oak. A definite spiciness with some anise and cinnamon. Finish is hotter thsn the blanco but helps even out the wood.

This is a nice reposado. It has a bit of heat to it, though. I have yet to taste the blanco, so I'm not sure how that distillate evolves in oak to become this product. This has the Cascahuín profile, which I love, but with single estate agave, which I also love. This doesn't stand out much to me, so I hope the blanco will.

Signature Cascahuín nose with the slightest barrel notes. Wow! Palate retains that agave while adding subtle barrel notes. The agave still shines here. Man that tongue buzzing finish is fantastic. This is good.

I’m getting light agave and minerals on the nose. Taste has agave, anise, vanilla, mint, jalapeño, and citrus peel. A lot going on here. Similar to the plata with a little vanilla from the light aging. Love the single estate and blending of roller mill/tahona crush, stainless/wood fermentation, and with/without fibers. Nice price point too. Fun project off to a great start!

Great oiliness and minerality. Anise on the palate. Well rounded and elegant feeling. The only reason I didn’t rate it higher is because I’m not normally a high-proof drinker, but if you like-high proof, this is some hing special.

Here's an interesting experience to try at home: try this reposado side-by-side with their blanco. This may be the most natural progression of gentle aging I've experienced to date. All of the qualities of the blanco are still here in the repo, but now with super subtle vanilla and a bit of overall mellowing. If you're a blanco fan, like I am, this is a reposado for you (and me.)

In the aroma I gathered berry (raspberry) sweetness, along with red cherry, distinct vanilla, oak, with a moderate ethyl sting, root beer or sarsaparilla, delicious amaretto almond, minerality, and light orange zest. The taste is light oak, cooked agave, honey, vanilla, cooked sweet potato, green olive, slightly floral, light whiskey, faint red apple. A very soft high proof with pleasing minerality. The finishing notes are light vanilla cooked agave, faint smoke, pepper, lasting minerality on the palate helps end the show with a bang, while leaving room for freshness with a light grassy exit.

Aroma is very layered with agave and vanilla at first then cinnamon and some minerality Flavor is complex with Agave and vanilla on the front with citrus, cinnamon and some mineralization on the finish. Initial sipping, this is one of the best first impressions I’ve had.

Alcohol overpowers the nose. Agave flavor is moderate. Finish a little hot. Drink again but probably not buy again.

Love it! Excellent in all aspects. That 35% brix really comes through. Might be my favorite repo...and it's HP. Also better priced than the newest line. | Once bottle opened up with time - got hints of anise, black cardomon, and cinnamon

LOTE 313, bottled on 100223. Color: just a tad of yellow, almost transparent. Aroma: slightly citrus, acidic, light stone fruit sweetness, cooked agave with light sweetness, light green notes, good sweet sour & acidic balance, after 30 minutes in the glass the agave note becomes slightly sweeter, feels thick and oily without being briny. Palate: good sweet sour and acidic balance, slightly bitter and astringent, cooked agave note not as sweet as on the nose, light pepper, thick mouthfeel. Slightly minty & fresh. Just a touch of vanilla. Finish is medium to long, cooked agave with slight citrus and bitter note persist. At the very end it is slightly astringent maybe from the barrel aging?

Nose. Salt and pepper. Uncooked agave and grapefruit skin. Taste. Cooked agave. Slight oak and butter scotch. Nice finish. A bit of heat and dry. Didn’t hit me like it does for some others eager to try the Blanco though. Maybe expectations too high.

Cooked agave on the nose. The taste is definitely sweeter than the aromas you get on the nose. Mouth feel is thicker but not oily. Very cooked agave forward, the butterscotch and vanilla notes are mild which allows the agave to be the main star of this reposado.

This is excellent from start to finish. A complex blanco with great flavor and a smooth finish. The nose has cooked agave, minerals and cinnamon. The palate present’s wonderful agave flavors with olive and vegetable and a cool minty finish.

Only a slight difference from the blanco which is a plus for those of us who prefer blancos. While all the flavors of the blanco carry over, the Reposado softens the strong Anise notes I found in the blanco.
