Tasted a sample at a liquor store. Good, all around, except for the price. I would probably drink it again, but wouldn't recommend it because distilling 4 times is absurd.
This is a tricky one. I guess I admire them trying to distill something four times to see what would happen. the result. Is it taste mostly like water. Water with a little bit of mint in it. And also a little bit of medicine. Not a bad tequila necessarily it’s just not really a tequila at all.
This is disappointing coming from Patrón. Aroma is basically just alcohol. Neutral and without character. Flavor is similarly flat and neutral. There’s a sweetness that comes at the end that feels out of balance with the rest of it. The finish is a bit rough. For the price, I expected so much more. A lot of emphasis was placed on the fancy bottle, not so much on the liquid inside.
A little thin, white pepper, citrus, agave forward. Surprisingly better than I expected. 4 x distillation, not sure how they got the agave notes to shine without some sort of additive. But overall this blanco was tasty. Price point and bottle presentation screams night club bottle service for sure
Got a super deal at Sam’s Club. Kinda of a fruity agave smell on the nose. Taste was ok but the finish left me feeling bland. A good not great blanco. Maybe distilled too many times.
Lacked any complexity...had a scent of rubbing alcohol. Extreme price.
nothing special... overpriced. four times distilled. is smooth but I taste some additive. money is better spent elsewhere for better quality
Very smooth. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. But it was also sweet and needed a bit of warmth to even out the sweet. An aroma that I couldn’t put my finger on until I watched a review. A woody kind of paw paw fragrance. Ok a sample. I wouldn’t buy it for the price it is.
This was slightly better than I thought it was going to be, but to be fair, I had very low expectations. I got the last dregs of the bottle, which probably helped it's performance, so when I poured it in my glass (Spey Whisky Glass, which was all I had to hand, but worked well) it had some air already and was surprisingly expressive for something distilled a ridiculous four times. I was expecting something more akin to a flavourful vodka, but more a midpoint (vodquila?) level of flavour, showing a surprising amount of cooked agave, citrus and a whiff of (non artificial) vanilla, but still not much for a tequila of this outrageous price. In the mouth it's also not flavourless but definitely lacking, soft but a little thin. The finish is fairly short and whilst pleasant enough, it lacks the complexity you would want from something this outrageously expensive. Which makes sense as it's distillated a ridiculous four times (I think I mentioned that already). Presumably this tequila is designed to appeal to those who drink expensive vodka, and for this target audience, this product probably does a very good job with it's pleasant but lacking profile and it's glitzy bottle. I do give it extra credit for being additive free (not certified but given their history and on flavour I would bet this is) and having some agave character, but 0 points for value with it being an outrageous £170 per bottle. I'd recommend trying it for the sake of interest if someone buys you one, but skipping it if you have to foot the bill. You can buy four or five bottles of infinitely better tequila for the same price.
Very smooth on the palette. Decent agave aroma with a bit alcohol smell but not overpowering. Smooth taste of agave at first then finished with a slight pepper.
Nose: grass, celery, vanilla… almost reminds me of a rum??? Palate: vanilla, citrus, little agave, kinda too sweet. Medium finish
Mineral forward earthy lemon
Vanilla, sweet, desert, oaky
have you agave Earth pepper smoke Earth tobacco excellent sipping tequila highly recommend
Nice peppery smooth finish
Much smoother than most Patrón.
Nose has chemical nail polish notes, but the flavour is good, lots of floral and citrus notes with a clean finish
Goûtée dans un bar, cette tequila est très douce. Elle s’apparente à certaines Cristalinos Le goût est poivré et le corps est vraiment mince. Selon moi, son goût plaira à des novices, mais son prix en freinera plusieurs.
Butterscotch & high AVV aroma
Subtle agave notes on nose. Classic agave flavors, but really light flavor and soft finish Velvety, with # of distillations, leans more neutral and away from classic agave
Aagave Pepper Sweetness Easy drink
I don't usually drink Blanco's , but I was very intrigued with the 4X distilled, as expected very smooth and alot of agave forward flavor, a bit pricey hurt my overall rating, but I did enjoy and will continue to enjoy the remainder of the bottle.
The foundation of this tequila could have been a really great blanco! But then they have to go and try to make it smoother, softer and sweeter. The agave is lost completely by the Caramel aroma and the pallet follows. It’s is stupid smooth, and the heat slowly shows up. For me it misses the mark on what a great blanco should be. As a purist I would pass on this one. As someone who is new to tequila and wants to dabble in sipping, it’s a good starting point.
Alcohol forward nose. Sweet lemon, peach and mango.
