NOM 1614 | The first batch of Blanco #10 out of TTap NOM 1614. Invest the time to let this one open up. Nose: At 54% ABV, I was braced for a slap of ethanol. But instead was greeted with warm and gentle sensations. Sweet and aromatic. In your face cooked agave. Floral, spicy and slightly tropical. Vanilla and green banana. Zest of lemon and lime. Cinnamon, trace nutmeg, anise, a quick grind of white pepper and a pop of minerals. Flavor: Robust pepper and viscous full bodied agave sweetness cling to the tongue and palate. Velvet like. Buttery. Salted caramel. Marzipan, vanilla, anise, a touch of brine. An undercurrent of tropical and dried fruits. This is a well crafted tequila.
NOM 1599 | Agave, white pepper, lime, brine. Long finish vibrating through lips, mouth, and chest. Nicely done.
NOM 1599 | On the nose, agave, grassy funk. Definitely some citrus, lime, orange rind. On the palate, full bodied cooked agave, that sweet potato-esque note, and some interesting salinity. Definitely some noticeable heat, I love high proofs but this is definitely a punchy one. Definitely a little vegetal and bitter on the finish. I’m going to be honest, this is a disappointment after the joven. The batch 1 joven was absolutely astonishing and this one is definitely a let down for me. As much as it surprises me to say this, I want to try the 80 proof because I don’t think the higher proof is doing this any favors. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good, but not $99 good.
NOM 1599 | One of the best high proof tequilas I’ve ever had, if not the best! Only reason the
NOM 1599 | =89 *AND* Nom 1614 = 90
NOM 1599 | Nose: cooked agave, mineral, herbal, I get celery and cilantro, there’s citrus, lime zest, white pepper, and nice floral aroma at the top of the glass Flavor: spicy on entry, that of fresh picked jalapeños and white pepper, sweetness of cooked agave, lime juice, and a nice buttery mouth feel. Finish: is long with white pepper spice, a nice sweetness shows up, just a touch of bitterness. This is a well balanced tequila
NOM 1599 | Tasted in Monterey at MBTC in Oct. 2021.
NOM 1599 | Sampled at MBTC 2021. Aroma and flavor are both a great example of what a blanco tequila should be. The lack of dilution allows for the product to have a potent flavor. Although the proof is higher than what I prefer, it wasn't overpowering.
NOM 1599 | gonna revisit this one for many reasons. First, I love the funky nature of it. Flavors are so good and checks all the boxes. I honestly think one of the biggest issues with this is my expectation due to the price. I’ll have a full pour at some point and review it. Not going to say a single negative thing about flavor cause I liked it and I feel like it needs more time open.
NOM 1599 | more of a burn and less of the agave and brine than the regular Blanco.
NOM 1599 | First time tasting this high of ABV so the heat isn’t what I’m accustomed to, but that’s okay. I get lots of city’s notes after the heat.
NOM 1599 | On the nose I smell a lot of pepper and mineral not. Once I sip and get it on the taste buds it’s alot of agave flavor, but not as peppery as I would expect. I really like this one for sure
NOM 1599 | Nose: Some lactic funk or cheese Agave Anise Mint Citrus Flavor: The funk Agave Citrus Anise Reminds me of the newer version of Pasote blanco. Not a big fan of the funky cheese thing. Otherwise a solid blanco.
NOM 1599 | I’ve previously struggled with high proof blancos, but this is really good. Of agave, vegetal & slight lime aromas. Oily mouth feel. Flavors of green agave, white pepper, cilantro & lime. Smoother finish than expected.
NOM 1599 | tried at chris porters 10/22 Cazcanes 10 h.p. blanco So strong alcohol Really hot but not as funky on the nose as the no 9 joven But I'm not loving this. Will need to revisit when I haven't had 10 other tastings
NOM 1599 | Tasting Review for Cazcanes Blanco No. 10 Aroma: Enjoyed the entrance of this expression, roasted agave, buttery and caramelized sweetness, lime zest/citrus potency, and white pepper/aniseed nuances. The aroma personality on this one is very complex and inviting. Taste: Heavy cooked agave that just coats your mouth instantly with a buttery texture while showcasing a crisp framework. The heat you will receive from this blanco is with a punch of flavor and alcohol intensity is minimal. Another thing you will be able to perceive its some minerality, that comes from their water source. The finish will have some astringency, not bad as is something I enjoy from time to time. Aftertaste is very rich and leaves a harmonious lingering agave flavor. Price: $100
NOM 1599 | Cazcanes Still Strength (NOM 1599) Nose: Alcohol, buttery-sweet agave, smoke, grassy vegetal notes, crushed/powdered stones. Light citrus, white-pepper, licorice. Tastes: I like high-proof blancos, and this one is up there (54%). It pushes the flavor intensity up a few notches. Tastes of creamy sweet agave, white peppery spice, anise, light citrus & mint... goes down quite nicely, noticeable heat, but no burn... very clean, tapering agave finish.
NOM 1599 | A very good high proof. The nose has agave and pepper. The flavor adds some lime to the agave and pepper. I enjoyed the peppery finish That had a medium length. If you enjoy a nice HP then you will enjoy this. I got this on sale(Happy Place in Saticoy). so the price was less of a factor. A very nice, complex tequila.
NOM 1599 | Booming flavors - roasted agave, citrus sweetness, green olive salinity. Exceptionally long finish. Amazing!
NOM 1599 | Agave, pepper, minerals
NOM 1599 | I was expecting a more powerful explosion of flavors like the Tapatio or Terralta HPs, but I was pleasantly surprised by a smooth, complex flavor with strong notes of lime. Nose is great. Floral with minerals, lime. Finish is long and lingering with a peppery afterburner. Finish is also quite sour, which did not appeal to me. Not worth $99 but an interesting tequila.
NOM 1599 | Finally found at Ferment & Still; expensive at $99, but was excited to finally try it; packaging is very nice, giving impression of high end bottle; high intensity alcohol on the nose, slight agave notes along with pine, maybe? Even notes of lime? Unique; warm, as expected across the tongue, heavy lime & vanilla; different taste due to heavy lime accent; I do like it, it is very different than the normal, high proofs that I love like Fortaleza, Siembra Valles, Cascahuin; unfortunately, I believe the price is WAY too high; looking forward to trying their blanco. Just an afterthought, I am going to blind taste this vs Siembra Valles Ancestral as I didn’t rank that bottle very high; I almost feel like they are very similar, but Ancestral is north of $120 USD.
NOM 1599 | Amazingly complex high proof with intense flavors and nice oily feel on the mouth. Very well made.
NOM 1599 | Enjoyable, high 108 proof Blanco that could rate even higher had it not been for the value. I paid $94.99.

NOM 1599 | Stronger malolactic smell, brine, red crushed chili. Sweet agave flavor immediately. Higher proof very evident. What I like in a high proof. I will definitely enjoy this bottle.
