Better on the 3rd night and definitely has more appeal than the standard Blanco imo. In the aroma, there is interplay of charred wood, mesquite, and yeast, along with subtle hints of smoke, citrus, earthiness, nuttiness, and agave. Upon the palate is prominent smoke flavor accompanied by toasted nuts and a fleeting saccharine sweetness. Notes of lemon citrus add brightness, while hints of grassiness and fresh agave provide balance and depth to the overall profile. The tanginess adds a refreshing twist. As the tasting concludes, a fruity exit emerges, leaving behind lingering notes of mesquite and a refreshing touch of honeysuckle.

Cooked in earthen pit, slightly smoky, bright, clean agave notes. Good price point and value

The “humo” in the smoky tequila is very faint, perhaps tampered down by the lower proof, compared to other smoky products. Sweet agave, jalapeno, and slightly fruity nose. Flavor is simple and sweet with a subtle smoky finish. Very soft expression. I would like to see more complex flavors and a punch of smoke.

Jalapeño, black pepper, cinnamon and cooked agave aromas, but not much smoke. Smells nice. Smoke barely detectable in the flavor. Sweet flavor, and lots of agave. I was expecting more smoke! If this was labeled as a normal blanco, I would have scored it higher. But, expecting much more smoke (based on its name and process) it lost some points because it left me wanting more. And at such a low price point, it gets a 9 out of 10 in value.

Whew…this was horrible. It's like eating a piece of firewood with…not even sure… where is the Agave? Wow…they should sell this as liquid smoke.

Medicinal nose - not at all in a bad way - with a vague note of cherrywood. Numbs the tongue with a broad mouthfeel that hints at spice but never fully comes through. No burn on the finish, but it angles toward a sourness here. If you’re looking for smoke, go after mezcal. This sounds like a good idea, but is really average.

I bought this because the reviews here said there was a hint of smoke that you could barely taste. Bullshit. So smokey it tastes like scotch. What a horrible waste of money. But hey it's just twenty bucks.

Smoke. It’s Not Just for Mezcal Anymore.

Patrón, and Lunazul join Siembra Valles with earthen pit-cooked tequilas.
