Very closed/discreet aroma. Faint notes of chocolate and citrus. Also noticing a “sweet” note that is not cooked agave. Flavor begins mild and builds to a spicy end. Begins with baking spice (cinnamon, nutmeg) moves to a middle that is not great (rubber-y) and finishes with slightly bitter coffee. The finish is spicy and short to medium. Nothing about this XA is bad but also nothing is really good. Overall, pretty nondescript and blah. 12/24/2020- 8th Annual Xmas XA tasting

I like this añejo but prefer the Reposado on this line and brand. This tequila is a good sipper at a great budget $$. Aroma and flavor mixes through the start, body and finish. Oak, agave, orange peel, vanilla and earth abound.

Lots of orange or orange peel, lots of alcohol tastes. Some minor hints of vanilla.

For the price point, this is one of my absolute favorite Extra Anejo Tequila's to drink. Very smooth tasting and is the perfect Extra Anejo Tequila for anyone who has a budget that's under $70. This one is also a huge hit amongst all of my friends and guests who don't normally drink Tequila. There are also several different variations of Tequila available from this same company that produces many big name bourbon and have been aged in their previous name brand bourbon barrels as well such as Eagle Rare, Wellers, Blantons, and Elmer T Lee. Even though the parent company of this Tequila primarily makes Bourbon, this is some of the best tasting Tequila around for the money.

Sweet cinnamon and caramel on the nose. Agave definitely comes through on the taste along with some barrel notes. A little hot on the finish. This is one of the cheaper XAs I have seen. Hard to tell if there are any additives but I don't mind sipping this when I don't want to open up the expensive bottles or if I'm in the mood for a tequila Manhattan or Old Fashioned.
