Free at hotel hosted happy hour. Wowza! This is the worst tequila I have smelled, tasted and swallowed. I appreciate that some users even fingerprinted this one. It’s bad. This is why some people really don’t like tequila.

This is a low shelf and not a 100% agave juice.

Whew…local eatery serves this as their house tequila so I thought I would give it a shot neat- whew…not good at all. I have been spoiled y so many other incredible tequilas. Aroma- alcohol, turpentine, medicinal, and other non tequila qualities. Taste- alcohol, it’s not very good- works in drinks but so many other tequilas- stopping here.

Montezuma Silver Tequila 38%, black color steel twist cap, rear label has bar code, no NOM stated, U.K. import, on the neck label it has the DGN Dirección de Norma printed, tasted on 7-24-24. Aroma: very light cooked agave, earthy, dirt, raw agave, light acidity, ethanol sensation is medium, after 20 minutes in the glass cooked and raw agave notes become more intense. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, earthy and dirt sensation is quite expressive on the palate, ends a tad bitter. Ethanol sensation is stronger on the palate. Finish is short to medium, light cooked agave, raw agave, ethanol and earthy and dirt notes persist but not too long.

Simply terrible. Should not even be called tequila. How could you serve me a paloma with this crap. I'm disgusted. It was so bad that the chaser could not even hide how bad this was.

Aroma: alcohol and vinegar. Taste: rubbing alcohol and mouthwash. Just Horrible stuff that shouldn't even be used in a well.

Aristocrat Silver Aroma sharp and pungent, notes of mustard and grass. Flavor was surprisingly not overwhelming alcoholic, but not smooth. Heavy raw agave flavor with few other notes. Bitter and unpleasant aftertaste.

I had this at the Rancho de Chimayó restaurant in New Mexico. They use it in their famous Chimayó cocktail, and now I know why it tastes so horrible! GARBAGE.

The flavor of this tequila is very good. To each their own but I really do like the buttery rich flavor and smoothness of this brand. That said, I can never bring myself to buy it ever again because it gave me the worst hangovers I've ever had while drinking tequila. My guess is since it's not blue agave or perhaps maybe not even agave at all, that's the reason for the trouble. I lost an entire day recovering from a couple shots the night before, and my old standby, Kirkland Silver, has literally never given me a hangover ever. The Kirkland Silver also is in the $20 for 1.75L price range, but sadly, is being discontinued which is what led me to try this. You could totally get away with serving Montezuma at a party, it tastes fabulous even straight up, but your friends may despise you the next day.

This is a horrifying tequila that smells like butter. I think the agave was pollinated by Paula Deen.

OMG ! why ? This stuff shouldn’t even be allowed to be imported, much less sold or drank. And the use of this in bars and restaurants is a crime when you figure the disservice to customers of the poor quality and misrepresentation of tequila. All in the name of profits ? There’s several real tequilas available for not much more , wholesale or retail . It’s about quality, honesty, integrity, right ?

When my dad passed away, my mother passed this to me. Otherwise, I would not have tried this. This is bottom barrel tequila that will make you sick. This is good awful. It tastes artificial and reeks of alcohol with no discernable agave presence. Save your money.
