Too oaky for me but 100% real.

Lots of stuff going on here. Spiked creme brule comes to mind along rum raisin cake. Not to say this is sweet in the slightest way as it isn't. This is as aromatic though as any tequila in the market. I think the bit lower proof lets agave shine through the lengthy aging this has received as compared to the 9 year 53%.

Old Colored Label Caballito Nose: Pear, peach and floral notes. Silky creme caramel with light cinnamon and nutmeg. Hints of oak, and agave is still abundant. Flavor: Perfume-like fruit and floral in the first wave. Followed by moderate pepper, vanilla and slight bitterness on the back of my tongue. Finish: Ends with long warming pepper and spices, and a slightly musty bitter finish.

There’s a lot going on in the aroma here. All good! Peach, vanilla, cream soda, melon, cooked agave aromas playing nicely with each other. The flavor follows the aroma, with a long and lingering creamy warmth. Nicely made tequila!

Simply incredible. If you get the chance to go the distillery DO IT. They make great tequila. Why don’t they produce very often? Don’t they know that the US will buy all of their delicious elixir? Tasted the Añejo. It’s incredibly good. But their Blanco is where they shine. I Ended up buying a bottle of 70% Puntas Blanco. Crazy flavors! No TMM category for it yet.
