Nose: Floral / fruity / agave/ ripe pear / orange / baling spice Taste: smooth as silk with floral and fruitiness in abundance/ pear and apple / mint / honey /white pepper / Finish: sweet, clean, and wet watery finish that still holds the sweetness for a bit before ending on a minty freshness. This is a delicious a floral and sweet tequila with gentle barrel notes that lift up the experience rather than stealing the show. This Anejo is one of a few that seem to design the taste to remain agave instead of barrel forward. The barrel finish could fool someone to think it’s a reposado. A very good anejo for those who don’t crave heavy barrel finish.
Notes of oak, other types of wood, agave, tree sap, & still agave forward, very clearly 1123, silky/creamy on tongue, very easy/enjoyable sipper, very friendly, even for new tequila drinkers, highly recommended.
this tequila is so good. haven't had it in awhile. need to revisit to include my tasting notes
Batch 10 artist label of Salvador senior on the label. Delicious, great agave notes. Not overly sweet. More agave forward … enjoy
This is batch 10 with Salvador Sr on the label. This is absolutely delicious anejo, easily worthy of an 89
Nose: Oh WOW! Gigantic ripe fruit immediately assaults your senses. Then big agave and unobtrusive hints of oak. Next a pleasant dry pungent nuance, licorice, vanilla and a slight lactic note. This all works flawlessly and delivers complexity and a silky roundness. Flavor: Ripe berries, peaches, cinnamon, cloves and allspice. Oiliness, anise, honey and pepper. Huge reverence is shown to the agave. This is a must have tequila.
Lovely aromas of raisin, cream soda and caramel. Rich, full mourhfeel, packed with flavor and a raisiny finish.
Nice subtle cream soda and dried fruit nose, with a tiny bit of licorice. This is not overly done, which I really appreciate. Vanilla and gentle barrel spice flavors. Feels very full and round in the mouth. As usual, a well-done product from this respected brand.
Valles is so agave forward it makes you second guess yourself of its purity! Is my mind playing tricks on me? The taste is delicately smooth and lingers on your palate just enough to awaken your tastebuds. Once you get past the sweet agave flavor that hints of vanilla and honey you move right into a faint smoke and a distant heat but without the spice. As you can tell my mind is reeling as it searches for adjectives for “really good”! But wow! this may be the best pour I’ve had in a long time and I can’t wait until the next. I’m now on the lookout for the old man on the label sitting in front of barrels.
Lote 501 The aroma is sweet caramel, toffee, agave, and a hint of roasted nuts. The flavor is nice and bright and matches the aroma with some jammy fruit added in. It coats the tongue for a smooth mouthfeel and just a slight tingle across the tongue from the alcohol. It finishes long and smooth and turns more sweet and fruity on the backend with a lingering vanilla character. The color is on the lighter side for an Añejo, closer in appearance to a Reposado. This is really a stellar Añejo. I wish I could get more, but it was hard to find.
Elegant and complex, the Anejo features deep aromas of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and roasted coffee. The luxurious mouthfeel showcases a rich tapestry of flavors, including toffee, vanilla, and oak, leading to a long, refined finish.
Nose: Agave, figs, carmel, stonefruit and molasses, dried cherries and pecans. Flavor: Carmel, cocoa, toffee and oak Mouthfeel: gentle and thin Finish: Agave, Minerality, butterscotch and nutmeg, cocoa and citrus
A bit pricey, but overall really good bottle. Nose: caramel, vanilla, banana peel. Nice finish.
smoky with bite on the backend
Nose: Honey, agave, vanilla, oak baking spices. Palate: Vanilla, agave, cola, fruity. Finish: Somewhat short, cola and baking spices. Aroma reminds me of a high proof mead, lots of honey, vanilla, and agave. Taste is similar with honey toned down a bit, and a cola-like flavor. The barrel complements without being overpowering to the agave. This is great by itself, but would also go well in a Tequila Old Fashioned.
Lot 13.
Batch 013, LOTE 501, bottled on 11-03-24, tasted on 4-1-24. Color: yellow. Aroma: sweet cooked agave, light honey notes, aromatic green vegetal notes, light fruitiness, light resinous sweetness, slightly herbaceous, fresh & not cloying. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet & sour balance, agave sweetness is more pronounced on the palate and the good thing is that I can’t feel the wood note. Fruity! Finish is medium to long, light sweet cooked agave with light fruitiness and light aromatic green vegetal notes persist.
Savoring a splendid tequila evening on my balcony, cradling Batch #10 Siembra Valles Anejo – yet another triumphant creation by Tequila Cascahuín and Siembra Spirits. This Anejo introduces itself with a bold rush of agave, its essence seamlessly refined. The delicate hue suggests that the barrel gracefully complements the rich cooked agave, without being overly oaked and your first sip confirms this harmony. The aroma enchants with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, and a subtle touch of licorice. On the palate, complexity reigns as agave, sweetness, and a gentle, alcohol-tinged warmth meld effortlessly. The finish, a lingering symphony of flavors, seals the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed this Anejo; a true delight, earns a well-deserved 91 points in my book.
The difference between the reposado and añejo is definitely a caramel punch in the face.
Actually enjoyed the Repo slightly better as the aging notes were more balanced... The Añejo seems as if the notes were a tad over-aged. It's definitely worth trying - probably better for the colder months.
Batch 10. Excellent Añejo.
Batch 9 Nose: Oak, vanilla, cinnamon, green apple, cooked agave, sweetness with a good amount of butter. Palate: Black pepper, spice, citrus, agave, and cherry. Finish: Delayed light heat with quick dissipation and flavors steady reside. Enjoyable.
Tasked time to open up. Aroma is sweet agave taste is nice
From the glass I can smell the huge agave and dried fruit presence. The fruit is on the darker side, like a prune or raisen. As I bring the glass closer, oak, licorice, caramel, vanilla, and honey introduce themselves. All romas are very well rounded and play nicely with one another. Flavor: sweet agave and honey hit your senses 1st followed quickly by oak, baking spices, anise, and a soft warm pepper finish. The Agave isn’t overpowered by aging, which I prefer as a blanco lover. This is definitely a must have for any collection!!
Instead of sampling tequila in its birthplace, I reached out to six of the top tequila experts in Mexico to unearth their favorites.

Gorgeous caramel nose on this with some agave in the background. Little bitterness mid palate with subtle barrel notes. I like the Siembra Azul anejo better but everyone’s palate is unique
