Really liked this xa, strong wood and whiskey notes. The nose and finish are both excellent

Just amazing. Lots of oak, with enough vanilla and agave. Insane smoothness.

Sweet cooked agave dominates the aroma and is present immediately when you pour. Flavor is a nice combination of sweetness and spice. There is something unique and special in this flavor that I just can’t quite describe...”rich” is the best word I can come up with. Finish is long with a nice, soft spice. Tasting the 3 anniversary editions side-by-side is very interesting. They are definitely three distinctly different tequilas. To my taste, the 75th does not match up with the other two. The 70 and 80 are both fantastic. 12-24-2017 (Annual XA tasting) 70-75-80 side-by-side

Aroma: Lots of oak, cherry and vanilla. It smells incredible. As it opens up, there's a little chocolate as well. Flavor: Slightly acidic, and definitely tastes a little high proof. Some caramel and oak kick in later and the cherry comes back around. Very solid Finish: The finish is strong and the slightly higher ABV helps. Definitely worthy of the 80th anniversary.

Agave on the nose right as the bottle is opened. Sweet roast agave on entry which resolves to barrel spice from the oak and fades to a nice long finish. Price compared to the 70th and 75th Aniversario bottles holds this back a bit at a list of $200. Bottle number 442 though it doesn't state on the bottle out of how many. The box also has a number that matches the bottle number. Interested to do a side x side x side with other Aniversario releases.

I was surprised at how much have shines through on this bottle. You would assume that barrel notes would take over, but that’s not the case, sweet cooked agave is the star of the show. The nose is amazing and the finish is long and lingers.

At first I sensed it to be a little too much alcohol, but as I gave time to my nose and palate, I understood that we were tasting a big daddy Tequila! The finish was loooong and smith with toasted flavors. A true handcrafted Tequila, SALUD!!

Fantastic nose Delicious pallet Finish is good I don't know if I'm sensing a little bit of mescal type smokiness as dare I even mention that M word Maybe it is the barrel that ait rested in but again it's more of a smokiness than reminiscent of a bourbon or oak

LOT EA80A-001, bottled on 10/08/2017. Color: dark yellow. Nose: fresh wood spice, light camphor wood, sweet cooked agave! Citrus, mineral, mint, vanilla, fresh. Palate: sweet wood spice, mint, citrus, good sweet & sour balance, cooked agave, minerality, vanilla. Finish is medium to long, cooked agave, wood spice and vanilla persist, at the very end it feels creamy & buttery & a touch of star anise emerges.

This is the best extra anejo tequila I’ve ever had. It’s a more complete and complex tequila compared to the other El Tesoro Anniversary bottles except the 75th, I was never able to find a bottle of that one. Very smooth tequila. Plenty of agave bursts through the beautiful oak. Barrel spice, cocoa, cherry, and a touch of vanilla. This a true special occasion tequila because of limited availability but it is worth every penny. Phenomenal tequila!

This is an adult tequila. Like one you'd see next to a collection of very expensive whiskeys in a billionaire's leather and wood clad home office. Rich aromas: roasted agave, toasted oak, tanned leather. Balanced, delicious, and complex savory flavors. Just enough sweetness here. Good for a long night of introspection in front of a fireplace.

Purchased from Z at Old Town...have been shipping tequila to the Carolinas through him for years. Purchased two bottles, this one is #1732. Was very excited to add this to my collection, as I have been a huge El Tesoro brand admirer for over 15 years. Sweet agave nose, hints of maple syrup. Nice, lingering agave & pepper on the tongue. Almost buttery caramel lingering. Overall, EXPENSIVE, but worth it for sharing on special occasions. Looking forward to blind tasting vs my favorite Patron EA 5.
