My new favorite tequila

Fantastic juice! Loads of cooked agave, earth, wine, vanilla, oak, cinnamon, clove, and a dry finish. No shortcuts here. The $300 price tag was steep but this is among the best that are aged 5 years or more.

Big fan of Codigo overall. Love the approach they have taken and packaging as well is very sophisticated. Great gifting option for those that are into whiskey and may want to join the high end sipping tequila club.

One of the best tequilas I have had to date. Super smooth and full of flavors from vanilla, chocolate, caramel, and mocha while still maintaining sweetness and earthiness from cooked agave, pepper, and mushrooms

Amazing! Very balanced fruit and spice. On the nose hints of orange, lemon grass and oiled leather. Maple and nutmeg to the taste with a warm and long lasting finish.

Nice toasted oak aromas. Green peppercorn flavor. Some bitterness. Not my favorite.

Deep, rich aroma with earth/clay, caramel and vanilla upfront. Underlying fruit and floral notes as well. Unique flavor with a strong note of coffee immediately present. The barrel is also very present. The finish is relatively short with a persistent coffee note. I was excited to try this tequila and while I wouldn't say I am disappointed I would say it is over-priced ($225) and more in the category of the Reserva de la Familia than other XAs that I prefer. 12/30/2016 - 4th Annual Xmas XA tasting.

Aroma: very complex and interesting. Mainly consisting of two notes: clay and caramel. Each time I get a different mix. There is also a bit of berry. Flavor: Overwhelmingly heavy with oak and coffee. This is very much what I would consider a whisk(e)y drinkers tequila. Very barrel heavy. Not my favorite flavors but I can appreciate knowing there are certain people who would love this. Finish: Finish is nice but not quite as good as the Anejo.
