Incredible balance. The sweetness + wood is so harmonious on this it’s extraordinary. Pricey, but a very memorable bottle.

Cosecha 2010 42% ABV Nose: Faint oakiness. Freshly whittled cedar shavings. A touch of vanilla. Enticing potpourri of baking spices and candied citrus peel. Ripe berries and cherry fruitiness. Varied sweet dried fruit. Floral. A walk along a dusty country road aroma. Flavor: Pepper heat swathed in silky sweetness. Intense fruit notes and savory salinity performing a high wire balancing act. Medium body. The agave has not been masked by the 7 year, intricate barreling. It remains fresh and bright

my rating is based on the first lote... the 7yr is my favorite of the fuenteseca expressions. had my first flight of fuenteseca at cantina mayahuel in San Diego 2014? the 7yr was the best of all, in my opinion, and compared to the rest of the line, best value. i really enjoyed it. looked at my old notes, says "tears-like" that was the first lote. it was soooo good!

This is one of the best aged tequilas I’ve ever had, so many layers and influences going on, it’s stunning. If you find yourself in a situation where you can buy a bottle, don’t hesitate, it’s elite.

Didn’t enjoy the finish as much, too much black pepper. Will revisit later… reminds me a lot of Artenom 1146… it’s good but the price doesn’t justify

Surpirisingly similar to the blanco (in a good way). Given its 7 year age statement I thought this would be an oak bomb, it isn’t. Would recommend for fans of Fuenteseca that like the layers of ageing but loses points due to value.

Strong heavy tequila. With this one I just realize I love French Oak Barrels. Every tequila I had so far that is finish in a french oak barrel is my favorite in the Añejo department. Natural sweetness with a mature finish. Me like!!

LOTE FS01 CCT11 (last 5 characters are hard to read) 42% ABV AAG 2142 Initial nasal impact is warming with a slight prickle. Aroma leads with cedar, cooked agave, baking spice, late season concord grape vineyard. Absolute buttery mouthfeel with sufficient alcohol. Wow, even after 7 years of aging, the sweet caramelized cooked agave still shines. The French oak, American oak and wine barrel notes are all easily spotted. Chinese 5 spice and homemade concord grape jelly hit on the retro nasal. Harmoniously balanced long finish. It is beautiful Found this for about $155, it is beautiful

Interesting, I tasted through the whole line all the way to the 21yr. I felt the 7yr old over delivered compared to the rest of the line strictly on price to value. Full bodied yet elegant. Good finish

65th birthday bottle opened on 03/24/18. Quite difficult to find now as this released in 2012. This is an interesting blend of ultra aged tequilas and is quite spicy with oak and agave as well as pepper and cardamom.

UPDATED 12/30/2018: This definitely has the distinctive Fuenteseca aroma - heavy oak with some fruity sweetness. The flavor begins with a nice fruit/caramel sweetness that is soon followed by a spiciness that is more cinnamon/nutmeg/clove than pepper. There is some real complexity here. A nice little bitterness and tannic drying at the finish. I really like this tequila. Some of the older Fuenteseca agings just have too much barrel for me. This one is a great representation of what the barrel can do. Especially when the barrel isn't overdone. 12/30/2016 - 4th Annual Xmas XA tasting. 12/24/2018 - 6th Annual Xmas XA tasting 2010 7 Year [ - Aroma is lighter with much less barrel. Sweet butterscotch and fruit are dominant in the aroma. Flavor is more complex than the 2005 with a great combination of sweetness and spice. Unfortunately, the finish is short and disappears quickly.

Aroma: Very oak heavy on the aroma with hints of caramel and vanilla. There is also a slight bit of mint and cinnamon. Flavor: Much like the aroma, it is very oak heavy. There's a bit of cinnamon and caramel in the flavor but pretty masked by the oak. Finish: Very mellow. Nothing too over the top and in fact I wish it had a bit more. Still solid though.

Great nose. Sweet with vanilla and cinnamon that overpowers the agave flavors. Greta sipper especially if you like bourbon. Would rate higher if it wasn’t expensive.

Nose smells of oak with a refined alcohol burn, vanilla and maybe some cinnamon consistent with other Añejo- anejos from 1146. I would say this one shines a bit less than the others I've had from 1146 like Artenom and Tears
