Minty on the nose, spicy on the palate. Pretty good!
Unassuming budget friendly HP blanco came and went off the market quietly. Soon after one of our Tequila Tasting Sessions live on FB, where we featured it, and we were blown away by it, many people went on a hunt for this gem from NOM 1414. Tons of cooked agave, mint, citrus, buttery, mint, earthy, minerals, herbal, and so clean. They're still out there and worthy of a treasure hunt.
Color: clear. Viscosity: medium to medium slow legs/tears. Nose: Vivanco distillery fermentation, popped with the added alcohol content (43% as opposed to typical 40%), spicy, vegetal, slight minerality, hint of grass, peppery, minimal fruitiness, cooked agave, Palate: creamy, most of the aromas noted above are present on the palate, the cooked agave starts to shine in the heart and finish. Finish: agave and pepper finish with a spicy heat that is inoffensive and lingers.
Simple framework, somewhat overhyped but still good, was anticipating more complexity.
Cooked Agave….. citrus …. Vegetal. Sleeper tequila, good for sipping or cocktails
Defiantly a sleeper. Loads of agave, vegetal and little fruit. Another nice one from 1414
can definitely smell the agave on the nose along with the high proof. agave and vegetal on the nose, almost grassy. pallet is lots of agave and heat. Not bad, shame it's no longer being produced
Great value from NOM 1414. Awesome for cocktails and the occasional sipping. Very balanced and well made for the price
agave, pepper and vegetal on the nose. the agave and pepper followed through on the flavor with cinnamon and finally some pear on the finish. very good option for the price
Nice nose, cooked agave takes over the nose as it should. Spicy and a sweet citrusy flavor that sticks around for a while after you sip.
Nice agave and pepper nose. Minerality is strong and nice with notes of bell pepper. strong finish with spicy agave. The extra 6 proof points srvevit well for sipping or mixing.
Aroma: Volcanic minerals, vegetables, alkali aloe, agave, with a pepper note. Palate; oily entry with minerals, black pepper and citrus with honeyed agave taste. Finish is warming with black pepper and mineral. Citrus notes linger with the grass and aloe notes of agave. Vibrant , aromatic and wonderful. Excellent enough to enjoy on its own sipped in a decent glass and cheap enough to mix.
This is no nonsense legit agave forward Blanco tequila. Well done identifying a good product and bringing it to bartenders, I really like this juice.
Clay Pepper Raw Agave Plums Spice
Went great in margaritas but so so for sipping!
Aroma: Definite agave notes with hints of fresh cut grass, mint and anise. It's very earthy and traditional. Flavor: Very interesting and complex. I was expecting something overly earthy by the aroma but it's actually sweeter than I expected. It still has the agave notes and a hint of clay but I also get citrus (which is what I think makes it sweeter). I also get a little of the mint on the finish.
An interesting bottle made specifically for the bar/restaurant industry. While I like this product, it strangely stays almost entirely in the mouth even after swallowing. Considerable alcohol numbing due to the 86 proof, but it seems to balance the spice and agave which are nice, upfront and stay on for a nice long finish. Not really a sipper, but cocktails should be spectacular. As intended?
cinnamon, thyme, white pepper
This tequila has a unique aroma to it, somewhat sour with muted cinnamon. The finish is a little hot but stays contained within the mouth, leaving a sourish aftertaste. This tequila (and its bottle) was designed for cocktail mixing, so think twice before drinking it solo.
This tequila has aromas of cinnamon, green apple and plastic. In the mouth it's slightly sweet with a spicy, early finish.
I like it as a mixing product! Very bartender friendly, easy to poor bottle,I find it spicy and citric witch is a bit unusual been a highlands tequila. I believe the peppery spice notes are good to complement a cocktail but not a sipping tequila. Mixing tequila for quality cocktail.
Complex aroma with strong grassy/vegetal aromas up front followed by mint and then anise. Spicy flavor initially followed by mint and grassy flavors. Not nearly as vegetal as aroma would indicate. Nice, complex, roll of flavors from the front to the back of the mouth. Moderate finish with lingering mint flavor. Very nice.
I get lots of salt, mint and hints of mineral on the nose. The Tasting notes I get are a buttery and briney sea salt with more minerally than other offerings I've had from 1414. Not bad but didn't blow me away like some of the other brands I've enjoyed from 1414. That said, still a solid blanco!
Wow! Excellent tequila. I get a pop of agave, minty mineral mouth full, long oilly pepper finish. fantastic!
Cabeza tequila is a blanco only entry hoping to capitalize on the higher proof tequila trend.

Old school 1414 tequila that is no longer made. Nice agave and minty nose. Some vegetal notes along with pepper some citrus and some mineral. On the palate, I get agave and pepper first and foremost. A lot of citrus with a touch a cinnamon and mint. This was send to me by Agave Love Lore. Thanks Brad!
