There's just a lot to say about this tequila. The light smoke makes me think of a medium Highland Scotch. Certainly not as much as a mezcal or an Islay, but it's definitely more there than in most tequilas.
Jake Lustig brought this out while we were relaxing at a little social gathering amongst friends new and old. What I remember is it being sweeter on the nose and palate more than I expected it to be but not in an offensive way. It tasted of warm vanilla, dried fruit/fig/dates and caramel with no ethyl sting in the nose or on the palate. It had a creaminess to it that made the mouth water and truly stood out as an indefinite after dinner, dessert specifically drink. The barrel influence made this an easy sipper. It was hard not to finish the bottle but so easily to do so.
