Nose is green, vegetal with hints of pear and some spice. It’s got minerality with rounded agave notes and a subdued kick. Little thin, there’s low key pepper and a quick, easy finish.

Aroma: Agave forward nose, minerals and some spiciness follows. Light colored tree fruit notes, pear in particular. Flavors: Black pepper with some accompanying bitter/pepper undercurrents. Silky vanilla with a hint of almond paste. Pepper and spiciness build mid palate. Finish: Medium long, mouth filling, with nice heat. Not the most complex tequila, but I think this tequila warrants higher scores than the current ratings reflect.

Lote: 301122, which should also be the bottling date too. This lote won Gran Oro at the Academia del mezcal y del maguey, A.C. in 2022. Aroma: sweet cooked agave! Light smoky notes, a leather grease note that after 30 minutes dissipates and instead an orange aroma emerges, floral notes, very fresh and crisp. Gets better and better in the glass, this one needs time to develop. Palate: intense cooked clean agave notes, smokiness from agaves cooked in underground pit, slightly citrusy, floral notes through retronasal. Finish is long, sweet cooked agave, fresh citrusy and smoky notes linger!

Tasted at the distillery itself in El Arenal, Jalisco. Good value for a good tequila. Props to the unique packaging. Very clean taste.

Beautiful, Beautiful packaging! Aroma much better than taste. Bit of pear but very minerally. Short finish.
