Eye: light gold with slow fat legs. Nose: Meaty with oak up front. Vanilla and wet earth then some cooked agave. Fresh spearmint and green peppers follow after it's had a chance to breathe. Palate: Comes on hot. Full body. Sweet bourbon. Vanilla and caramel are most prominent. Some cooked agave and red grapes. Light ethanol. Finish: Warm with black pepper. The cooked agave is most apparent here with some minerality. Long. Conclusion: A loud añejo with some very pronounced flavors. A solid tequila and great introduction for those coming from Bourbon.

Aroma is very desert like with lots vanilla,Carmel sweetness with hints of oaks and mint. Med-thick body with oily feel, the oak notes come forward with some spicy notes. You can feel the 100 proof in the finish.

Aroma: Incredibly sweet. Strong notes of caramel and vanilla with a hint of pepper, mint and agave. There also might be a slight note of almond. Flavor: It's very sweet upfront and slightly sweet on the finish. In between though it takes on a very medicinal and bitter flavor. I really wanted to love this based on the aroma but the flavor is lacking. *Blind Tasting*

NOM 1443. Tasted at home on a Riedel glass. Medium gold champagne in color. Almost no alcohol in the nose. Aroma of slight oak and leather notes, but not strong or too complex. This follows through with the taste as well, not overly complex. Very smooth for 100 proof. Like the other Deluce offerings, they are all good, but not exceptional. At least from this NOM. B-

It was a little too alcohol-y for me. I enjoyed it but I prefer a smoother tequila. The burn lasted all the way through the finish.

This is an unusually strong tequila (100 proof) and hence traditional tasting methods don't work. The aroma is potent (not in a good way), but for those with a good nose, it'll be easy to sniff several types of spices (easiest being vanilla). The flavor is difficult to decipher, but the finish is quite pleasant.

This is a wonderfully aged tequila that smells fantastic, tastes rich and thick, and has a long and pleasing finish that you don't want to ever go away. At 100 proof, it packs a punch, but does so with style and class.

Dulce Vida is 100-proof tequila done right

Sometimes 40% alcohol (80-proof) just isn’t enough. I say this not because of any need to hurry up and get a fast buzz on, but rather that a quality tequila made at 100 proof (50% alcohol) can be more true to the real nature of tequila than one that is at

Dulce Vida is a unique, 'muy fuerte' 100 proof organic blue agave tequila

There are two words that immediately come to mind when tasting the lineup of Dulce Vida tequilas: fuerte (strong) and unique.
