Mild, sweet, caramel, oak, and orange. Short finish. Maybe it’s the Old Fashioned I had right before this, but this tequila tastes just like an old fashioned! Would be perfect in that cocktail. Very mild, goes down easy. Great for newbies and bourbon drinkers.

Aroma: Cooked agave, caramel, and vanilla. Taste: A nice blend of the cooked agave and vanilla. Finish: Easy-drinking, smooth finish that accentuates the taste, with a a slight alcohol bite. Overall: Hands down the best bang for your buck añejo out there, a real treat.

Don Pilar Anejo This Anejo has a very pleasant nose of sweet cooked agave and buttery caramel. I get some light honey notes, fresh fruit and some light spices from the Virgin American White Oak barrels. I taste creamy cooked agave and peppery barrel spices then some warm honey. There is a nice mouthfeel and some pepper and alcohol tingle on the finish like a nice warm hug. This is a nice Anejo with some depth. I get more on the nose than the pallet but it’s a good sipping Anejo. I’m positive it’s additive free. Go get some! Salud!

Aroma : Wood/oak, caramel, vanilla butter, cooking spices, citrus, agave. It's like sniffing tequila and whiskey at the same time. Taste : Cooked agave, citrus, caramel. Some of bourbon notes here like the caramel, and also oak, vanilla and almond. Finish : Fairly long with vanilla, oak, spice and agave. Medium bodied and many flavors that bear resemblance to bourbon. If you also happen to be a bourbon fan like me, this tequila is a must.

Deep amber color. Loads and caramel and butterscotch on the nose, some vanilla and oak as well and agave too. Slight hit of pepper followed by and hints of fruit and agave... finishes with oak and leather tannins. Short to medium finish, with some lingering heat.

out of the full bottle I let it breathe for a few. I noticed the aroma got more bold with a few mins. light oak on the nose, followed by molasses. sweet, but easy. wonderful lazy summer night taste. oak and honey are strong, but not over powering with a sweet lingering finish. Azul Latin Kitchen South Lake Tahoe great menu of tequila $11 bottle full requested champagne glass queso fortido and carnitas

Blind rated. This one has a beautiful aroma, with loads of caramel, oak and dried fruits. Some sweetness and that little mint, which I perceived throughout the samples. On the palate is balanced with a medium mouthfeel. Again Caramel and oak, although less than expected from the aroma and the same goes for a mild sweetness, which for me is a plus in an añejo (I tend to dislike over-oaked and very sweet añejos). This is a well done añejo. It's definitely my favorite one in the line, although I would have liked a bit more of complexity and oiliness. I could drink this one all night.

Strong note of caramel and a slight hint of oak on the nose. The flavor is a lot less sweet than I was expecting. I definitely get a lot of oak but it's not too overpowering. The finish is nice and lingers for quite some time. I wish the flavor was a little more complex (maybe hitting that caramel note more) but overall a good Anejo.

This really works for my palate. I get apples and dried cherries in the nose. More of the same on the body along with vanilla and caramel. I could a longer finish with some spice at the end. Great value at about $35.

Rated blind after aeration. Aroma: kind of a green funk (mint, green agave?), agave, chocolate? Flavor: Bourbon and spice. Finish: Dry, tannins, spice. (.57)

Interesting turn…asked for Don Fulano Anejo. Was given this by accident…no comparison. Did not want to complain. Slight burn on the end with no viscosity. Had a good nose, but was non existents during sips!

Don Pilar Anjeo $46 USD (Ferment and Still) Overall: Exceptional value and an enjoyable sip. Aroma: Cooked agave, carmel, dried red fruits, oak, cinnamon, and a touch of vanilla. Light sweet and not overly rich. Taste: Medium body, dry, and a slight cinnamon, pepper, and citrus peel bite. Whiskey influences are enjoyable and do not overshadow the cooked agave and the natural oak vanilla charm. Easy to sip. Finish: A lovely interplay of the whiskey, agave, cinnamon and vanilla in a long finish.
