Some readily discernible flaws and a medicinal note, render this nearly undrinkable.

Follows much the same trajectory as the Blanco, the oak is barely detectable which I generally like but in this case more was needed to mask flaws.

So few options available here in Ontario, Canada that aren't mixto, or diffuser garbage or $80 plus per bottle "premium" tequila.... Out of those that remain, El Fogonera is a decent option. Agave forward in both flavor and nose, small batch quality tequila. Brand rep claims it is made without additives. Awesome value and great tasting tequila. It's not "blow your socks off" awesome, but it's a solid tequila and beats the hell out of anything made by diffuser..... Sauza, Cazadores, Cuervo, Corzo, Dobel, etc, etc, etc.... better than Patron at a third of the price......

Really nice reposado, especially for the money. I paid $10 a liter at the distillery for a case lot. Great price, plus I now have case to go through before I run out.

Review #217 - El Fogonero Tequila Reposado

Being someone who really likes the balance and craftsmanship of a reposado, I am generally pretty sure that if I try and like an anejo first that I will like the reposado as well.
