Both the aroma and taste on this one start out well, but quickly turn very bitter and off-putting the longer it opens up. At first I detected roasted agave, baked apples, and black pepper on the nose, along with a faint fruity scent that was almost fake in nature. Then the oak appeared, along with mild caramel and vanilla notes. The smell then quickly became very bitter and had strong aromas of nail polish remover. The flavor was similar, starting off with a strong spiciness from black pepper, then sweetness from roasted agave, as well as typical oak barrel flavors of caramel and vanilla. This then followed in the footsteps of the aroma with a strong bitter flavor and a taste of acetone. Some positives of the bitterness were that I could taste and smell some variation in it, such as orange rind, green banana/plantain, and bitter herbs.

A bit boring for me. Lacking complexity and not many flavor profiles.

Heavy flavor of pepper and fresh green veggies (maybe raw agave?) Very different flavor than most tequila. Not an every day drinker, but I'd have it again just to change things up.

Still lots of alcohol on the nose, but with some pepper, nose gives little barrel except for a hint of vanilla. The anejo finally gives some barrel compared to the repo in the form of some bitter/dryness on the finish:

Aroma was hot and flavor tasted artificial. There was some cooked agave flavor and caramel, but had to search for it. The chemical/artificial flavor overpowered the more delicate agave flavors for me.

Only good as a sipper. Just an "eh" sipper at that. Comparable to Patrons anejo

Soft caramel agave to the nose. Some lime, cooked agave, and mild sweetness on the tongue with a soft syrupy peppered agave finish. Not too sweet, and pleasant.

From the initial slight sweetness to the black pepper finish I love this one.

Light, airy aroma that is subtly sweet. Well balanced body that has a consistency of light maple syrup. Finishes with a hint of pepper.

Promising bouquet but let me down a bit. Wish it drank better since it’s easy to find.

Light, soft, a little burny. Almost flavourless. I give this one to company - they think they're drinking something special.

Major disappointment, I love the Reposado therefore I was expecting the Añejo to be smoother however it had a rough finish. Not what you expect from an Añejo.

Tres Generaciones bottles a bouquet of flavor and Sauza tradition

Bottled in elegant, curvy bottles whose labeling reflects three generations of Sauza tequila, Tres Generaciones at first might seem like Sauza's attempt at an artisanal tequila.
