Delicious and amazing value. Tres Leches cake with almonds on top. So good and balanced.
Nov 18, 2022 tasted at distillery. long day of tasting. need to revisit.
Citric aromas blended with strong cooked agave, with a pleasant minerality, and a touch of spice and herbs. Clean and slightly sweet across the palate. A great finish, a burst of agave coupled herbal/basil notes with light oak, and hints of spice and vanilla. A very nicely balanced reposado.
Sweet nose with agave and raspberries alongside light baking spices. This carries over into the taste with some additional barrel notes like vanilla, oak, and nuts. The finish is long and spicy. The only thing I don't like is that the Blanco has such a great value but this doesn't (at least in the US).
This review is over a older Cascahuin small semi squared bottle from the late 90s. Nice earthy aroma with a good precede of cooked agave. A hint of vanilla and a power heat kick towards the end. Very enjoyable.
Soft, inviting nose pulls you right in with roasted agave & caramel. Builds up slowly on my palette, starts with just a bit of sweetness and builds up to a boozy kick in the ass on its way out. Perfect for novice tequila fans, just a lot to like without any fuss.
I really like this. Agave, citrus, tree bark, pepper and apple blossoms on the nose. Palate has agave, light oak, cranberries, peach and bananas with a finish of salted peanuts.
Honey, white flowers, windex
Originally sampled with Salvador and Tetsu at Distillery visit Sept 2018.
Striking nose. Agave, berries, banana, and warm spices reminiscent of cookies baking. Flavors follow nicely with vanilla, almond and pepper. Creamy anise. Lingering pepper finish with a hint of orange peel. This is a very solid economical tequila.
Older bottle from around 1998 or so. MX bottle at 38% ABV with no tax stamp. Sip it if you find it.
Cascahuín - Reposado LOT: 356 (03/04/23) View: very pale, straw yellow. Acceptable tears for alcohol content. Freshly served; Aroma: barrel, wood, vanilla, mineral, herbal. Flavor: very balanced and balanced, sweetness and wood come in a very even way, neither dominating the other. A little vanilla. Aftertaste: orange citrus and wood astringency, a little black pepper. It remains on the palate for a long time. I let it oxygenate for 15 minutes. Aroma: it seems to me that it opened towards the herbal without losing its other profiles. I also detect a citrus profile that was not there before. Very subtle green orange or lemon. Flavor: Just like the aroma, it also seems to me to have evolved towards herbal and citrus. Without losing the characteristics of a reposado. Aftertaste: citrus and orange, wood and black pepper.
Honey lemon agave
Very harsh finish.
Caramel, honey
Aroma is herbal, mineral, earthy, and some different notes than I have smelt before…smells incredible. Taste is very nice. Earthy light pepper wet agave with an herbal minerality that is delicious…light barrel spice oak lingers- just right. Finish is silky smooth with a great tequila finish. This is delicious.
Caramel aroma Slightly harsh, caramel sort of taste Smooth finish
Tried at cascahuin distillery 9/9/23. Lots of pepper and not as much sweetness. It is a different reposado.
Purchased at El Buho. Gracias Emilio! 38%. Very tasty.
LOTE 1003, bottled on 23 03 19. Color: light yellow. Aroma: sweet cooked agave! Light white jasmine flowers, resinous sweetness, slightly earthy. Palate: sweet cooked agave! Slightly earthy, Finish is medium, sweet cooked agave persists. And before it fades away completely, a light aromatic floral note can be perceived. Maybe the 38% abv. was too watered down for this expression.
What a great Tequila! This guy it is a reposado but the presences of the aromas are more of the blancos than reposados It smells and taste young, light and it has a delicate balance between sweet and oak. It is an amazing Reposado
Really wonderful value tequila with notes of oak, agave, and a bit of bread - just the right about of burn!
Smokey taste and smell. Light taste with tad vanilla and oak. Bit of depth to it. Bit of after taste. Lots of flavour. Not the best or my favourite.

Tasted at a distillery tour and really enjoyed this one
