Aroma is inviting with floral notes, vanilla, oak, and tart fruit. Flavors follow suit with agave, oak, plum, vanilla, cinnamon, and pepper. This one has some traditional barrel influence but isn’t too dark. It also shows nice legs and presents a warm finish. This Reposado hits the right notes.

Aroma : Cooked agave, caramel, vanilla, oak and cinnamon. Taste : Cooked agave, vanilla, butter, and cinnamon. There is also a certain degree of oaky spice that plays well with the sweeter notes. Great, oily texture in the mouth. Finish : Long with a little stronger emphasis on the buttery, vanilla sweeter side of this tequila.

The barrel rounds out the rough edges of the blanco. Nutmeg and cinnamon along with vanilla, but still with plenty of agave character.

Rated blind in Riedel Overture. GLASS: Straw color. Coats the glass as tears descend, leaving their legs behind, as well as several pearls. Beautiful. AROMA: Cooked agave, caramel and a hint of candied apple fill the nose, along with ample white pepper and a touch of cinnamon and orange peel. Outstanding. ENTRY: Buttery. FLAVOR: Caramel apple with black pepper, cinnamon and butterscotch, accented with orange zest. Lucious. FINISH: Extremely long and buttery with black pepper, caramel and a touch of alcohol heat. I think the angels may have tried to keep this one all to themselves. CONCLUSION: This is amazing all the way around. VALUE: After my blind rating of the sample I had, I was able to get the bottle for $50 at oldtowntequila.com. However, this typically runs $60 per bottle or more. So, this is a higher-priced reposado priced fairly for its quality and an excellent value if you figure in that it is organic, made from single estate agave, and that its creator, Adolfo Murillo, is doing great things to elevate the craft tequila industry.

Aroma of baked agave, sweetness and spice. Wonderful combination of flavors; spice, oak, agave and caramel Strong finish that lingers.

There's nothing wrong with this reposado, but it has neither the wonderful agave flavor of the blanco nor the smooth finish of the anejos. This is the least impressive of a very good house.

Aged in once used jack daniels barrels, you pick up a little bit of that. Very noticeable vanilla taste along with some agave which makes for a sweet yet peppery body. Great repo.

Subtle aroma of butter, vanilla and maybe pickle brine. Flavor is an excellent, rich butter/butterscotch and vanilla. The slight sweetness of the blanco is not as noticeable surprisingly. Nice, warm lingering finish that fills the mouth. Very nice. (And thanks for this one too Z).

This is good because it started with a very good blanco, and the aging added more good things, like butter and subtle vanilla. The cinnamon in the blanco is still there, too. The finish is extremely smooth. Some nice spice in the mouth that stays in the mouth, and doesn't follow into the throat. A solid choice.

AR/03/21. 06/08/21. Tasted on 9-30-23. Color: yellow. Aroma: cooked agave, initially not very expressive, 30 minutes in the glass the agave note becomes pungent and sweet like agave honey although not very strong, earthy. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, light black pepper, ends slightly weak. Finish is medium, agave with earthy notes persist.

Very well balanced subtle tequila, and although there’s a little heat to it, it stays up front on the tongue and sticks around, but goes down buttery smooth with subtle sweet yet warm vanilla. Very good sipper.

A solid reposado, matured from a solid blanco. Cooked agave dominates, with rounded barrel notes and flavors of caramel and butterscotch. Tasty with a rich mouthfeel, and a lingering sweet finish.

Alquima improves on their outstanding blanco with a near perfect reposado ($60 @ Ferment and Still). Like the blanco, a subtle nosing is the only blemish The taste and finish will knock you off your feet. A great entry for those looking to get into tequila, provided they don't the whiskey barrel influences. Aroma: Delicate and balanced. A mild sweetness from the cooked agave and light caramel notes. Vanilla, cinnamon and orange peel, with a light oak come a live after the initial nose. I pick up faint accents of dried cherries with black pepper. Taste: Lucious. Buttery with a light sweetness and mild warmth. Cooked agave and cinnamon up front. Oak, vanilla, caramel, black pepper, butter and nutmeg are extraordinarily well balanced. Finish: Long and delicious. At the end, a little sweet orange zest brighten things up. Wow. Just wow. A must try.

Aroma is not as strong as other reposados I’ve had recently like El Tesoro. Cooked agave, alcohol, caramel, butter, oak, pepper, orange peel, and vanilla are all present. Soft mouth feel. Flavors unfold slowly after it hits your tongue. Cooked agave, oak, citrus, caramel, and pepper in that order. A hint of sweetness, but less than El Tesoro Repo. The sweetness isn’t overwhelming and let’s the flavors take center stage. Finish has a bite, though it creeps up on you in a pleasant way. The Oak, citrus, and pepper notes linger long after.
