NOSE- Spice, butterscotch, light caramel, oak, raisen fruit presence. TASTE- Sweet, fruit raisen, seems somewhat natural, and some alcohol.

I got a barrel select of this at Oscar's in Tupelo, MS. this barrel select was amazing. I went back and bought another. There is caramel and vanilla on the nose to accompany the strong agave. The palate follows the nose. the finish is amazing and pleasant.

I have a bottle of both the añejo and the reposado. I dare say I enjoy the reposado a bit more. I have had better añejos and I’ve had worse but for the price point it’s not too bad.

Not much agave in the aroma plenty oak. The taste is good, fun and cinnamony. The finish is good with a small amount of burn.

Nice dark golden color. Get caramel, vanilla, butter, oak, pepper and butterscotch aroma than follows the flavor. No burn, no alcohol, nice peppery finish. Is lacking something but overall is a nice añejo

My first encounter with El Mayor was in a Cognac glass. I'm a Cognac fan and a friend tricked me into trying it as Cognac. When I discovered that it was Tequila I was surprised. Sweet vanilla and oak on the nose. Delicate baked Agave flavor and hint of caramel on the mid-palate. Complex, tasty, smooth and long finish. This is very good sipping Tequila.

Caramel, agave, oak, a little bit of vanilla in there. A steal at only $40.

Dominant smells of mastic or construction adhesive. Some over-ripe banana and buttery Werthers. Very nice flavor. Easily sippable. Toasted oak, vanilla, dark spices.

My bottle is a single barrel from a liquor store in Denver (Davidsons) listed as F-8 and tastes of chocolate covered cherries. I found it interesting that this store bought 2 different barrels of the same juice but each barrel tasted completely different. The barrel matters!

A surprise find in the PA State store of the barrel select M20. Was able to get on sale for $30 which was a great buy. Very nice aroma with good finish. Recommend the barrel select but have not tried the normal anjeo.

First impressions are everything! I really had high hopes on the aroma, it was sweet and made me think of Ghiradelli Carmel chocolate. After the first drink I had a little let down. Since I test by the bottle I would recommend opening this and letting it air for a moment. The more of this I drink the better I like it. I will buy this again

Cinnamon, spice, vanilla & butterscotch are what I sense and taste. Agave tones are gone (as expected for añejos). GREAT buy for the money. Here in Scottsdale, AZ cost was >$30. Easy to sip. Creamy/oily on the palate. Very low traces of alcohol, pure flavor. Clearly a highlands style. Are there better tequilas? Yes. Better than this for sub-$30? Good luck finding one. Aromas open up after air exposure in glass served neat. Would highly recommend. UPDATE: light fruit and floral after taste as it lingers

A friend got a bottle of the barrel select (barrel #M20). Fantastic tequila. Aroma of agave, smoke, oak and grass. Sweet flavor of agave, apple, grass and oak. Nice smooth finish. He got the bottle for a sale price so it was a fantastic value. Even for the listed price of $40 it's a good buy.

Nice vanilla and caramel nose. Upfront subtle smokey oak agave followed by a wonderful vanilla and caramel flavor. The finish is sweet and lingers on the tongue.
