NOSE- Spice, butterscotch, light caramel, oak, raisen fruit presence. TASTE- Sweet, fruit raisen, seems somewhat natural, and some alcohol.

Nice dark golden color. Get caramel, vanilla, butter, oak, pepper and butterscotch aroma than follows the flavor. No burn, no alcohol, nice peppery finish. Is lacking something but overall is a nice añejo

Oak and caramel with a touch of vanilla. Very smooth with a medium finish. Unfortunately, the agave seems to have been lost in the process.

A solid sippable añejo from Destiladora Gonzales. Caramel and barrel spice make it pleasant to sip and savor.

Great on the nose then it loses something. Still not bad.

It’s $29.99 and goes down very easy. That alone makes it worth a purchase if you’re looking for something cheap. The nose is pretty bad though. Muted and not getting much agave. Kind of nutty I guess? Some caramel. The flavor ain’t bad. It goes down quick and easy and is pleasant to drink. Some spice, caramel, vanilla. Very little heat and alcohol.

Aroma of caramel and agave. Taste to match, with a smooth finish. Excellent for an inexpensive anejo. Its sweetness is a little bourbonesque, so drink only if that's your thing.

One of my daily sippers I rotate between. The notes of roasted agave and caramel are present in the nose and mouth. And the light pepper finish puts it near the top of my bargain Anejo short list!

I'm still assuming this is autoclave pressure cooked? Right from the start of opening the bottle carmel cooked agave & butterscotch on the nose. In the mouth more cooked agave, carmel, oak and baking spice. Vegetal, citrus, smokey pepper in the finish. Nice looking bottle. This would be a good gift for someone who favors añejos, without breaking the bank.

Great varietal nose. Makes me want to sniff it more than I drink it. Flavor very weak at first then a bit of agave and hint of herbs but it never really catches up to, or pays off like the nose alludes to. Low burn. Overall, great for the price and not any more than I expected but I wouldn't kick her our of bed. A good mid-lower rung in a flight for friends who aren't seasoned.

on the nose get cooked agave, oak, vanilla and caramel tasting it it has a nice oily mouthfeel with lots of cooked agave up front followed by a hint if oak with vanilla and caramel following that. it has a nice sweetness on the end that blends with the caramel that gives it a nice medium finish. for $30 I will definitely keep this on my shelf! I got a barrel select of this at Oscar's in Tupelo, MS. this barrel select was amazing. I went back and bought another. There is caramel and vanilla on the nose to accompany the strong agave. The palate follows the nose. the finish is amazing and pleasant.

I have a bottle of both the añejo and the reposado. I dare say I enjoy the reposado a bit more. I have had better añejos and I’ve had worse but for the price point it’s not too bad.

Not much agave in the aroma plenty oak. The taste is good, fun and cinnamony. The finish is good with a small amount of burn.

My first encounter with El Mayor was in a Cognac glass. I'm a Cognac fan and a friend tricked me into trying it as Cognac. When I discovered that it was Tequila I was surprised. Sweet vanilla and oak on the nose. Delicate baked Agave flavor and hint of caramel on the mid-palate. Complex, tasty, smooth and long finish. This is very good sipping Tequila.
