NOM 1143 | Strong pharmaceutical, alcohol and agave notes on the nose. Agave flavor with bitter finish. A little peppery on the front end. Would be ok to mix.

NOM 1535 | Decent enough nose. Lots of agave but a bit too hot. Taste is similar. Kind of a hot simmer that doesn’t fill me up with agave, citrus or even pepper.

Will get it on sale for under $20, good for mixing. Lots of agave and alcohol on the nose and taste. Citrus all the way!

NOM 1107 | Aroma: Very unique combination of notes. I get a bit of olive, mint, banana and slightly medicinal. Flavor: Lots of pepper, a bit of vanilla, and cooked agave. It's really smooth and incredibly balanced. Finish: A little light but still very nice. It hangs around and definitely not overpowering.

NOM 1107 | NOM 1107 Fairly powerful aroma of agave, mint and stone. Mouthfeel is thick and full with strong mint flavor followed by peppery spice that lingers. The finish is medium to long. 6/21/2017 (vertical tasting)

NOM 1107 | NOM 1107. NOM 1107. Tasted in Riedel after aeration. Clear. Really coats the glass. Nice legs. Big agave nose, with some alcohol from the slight overproof. Oily mouthfeel. This tequila has machismo. The flavor delivers on the promise of the big agave nose. Big clean agave, no extraordinary accent flavors. It enters smooth, but the pepper kicks in very quickly and grows into the finish. The flavor and sensations linger, but never burn. Big flavor throughout. This is one of my favorite bold tequilas—machismo but not brutish. It's a great "guys night out" tequila, or just when you want something with a little punch to it. Highly recommended.

NOM 1107 | NOM 1107 batch 1. Has a fairly thick mouthfeel for a blanco and a real cling to the tongue buzz. Though it is a couple of degrees higher in proof than the norm at 84, it seems higher from the initial white pepper that explodes and dominates the whole palate. This pepper gives way after several minutes to a sweet ending of roast agave and a fading tang on the tongue.

Nose of agave and alcohol. Oily mouth feel. Smooth entry then lights up the front and mid mouth with warm spice extending into a long finish. The Peligroso line is a fun juice neat or mixed. This is was from the NOM 1107 line. I need to compare against the new NOM.

It’s all right, heavy alcohol smell and taste. Can’t quite get the agave in this one. I’m confused because it’s caramelo and oaky…. WTH

Aroma is nonexistent but the flavor is not good so… Taste is interesting but not in a good way. Is that prickly pear bitterness? Something bitter on the front of the palate. Finish has some burned agave and pepper. No thanks.

NOM 1143 | Ok on the nose, light agave and citrus, initial peppery bite up front slowly fades to a bitter medium finish. Descent blanco not a bad price.

NOM 1535 | Very light aroma of cooked agave and not much else - no complexity. Light cooked agave and pepper flavor. Finish is very harsh and headsy. Definitely not for sipping, fine for mixing.

Nom 1535. An alcohol nose with agave. Oily mouth feel with a bit of citrus and pepper. A touch more chest burn than I like but not a deal killer. More than fair price. Not a top notch distillery (they do make Sam's club stuff) but this is above average. Additives? Probably. Easy and cheap? Yes. Value? Very good value.

A nice mild sweet agave smell. Peppery taste, with a slight odd sweet fruitiness. Alcohol burn finish.

Review #228 - Peligroso Silver Tequila Blanco

Peligroso is one of the first brands I reviewed for this blog with the anejo. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to get back to it, but I am finally sitting down and enjoying some "dangerous" time with the Silver.

Watch out! Peligroso tequila flirts with danger

There’s a young tequila brand that is asking, almost begging: Are you ready to drink a tequila that’s synonymous with danger?
