This was a nice, light juice with raw agave, pepper, citrus, vegetal and herbs like mint. The agave was present with pepper, cucumbers and cinnamon.

Green apple, cinnamon aromas with very light mouthfeel and peppy red hots finish.

Taste of agave hint of citrus, apple and pear. Herbaceous nose. Soft lingering finish. Very smooth not a peppery tequila at all.

A lovely floral nose, nicely balanced, a very enjoyable medium finish. Quite delicious. I like keeping this in stock for when I'm in the mood for a light, refreshing, nicely spicy blanco, with a whiff of sweetness.

Nose:Discernable, cinnamon, vanilla, some earthiness, elderflowers?; but not overly complex / quite simple, and a little bit faint; slightly too alcoholic Again, flavour easy to make out, some celery, vanilla, red earth; but not to impressive and not terribly balanced Quite long, satisfying finish

Quite floral on the nose .

My only gripe is a little too much alcohol in the scent. Daily oily body, minty peppery flavor and that spicy kick typical of a highland blanc that lingers on your tongue. Awesome deal for $23

Blanco Tequila: The Great Divide

While the panel’s favorites were complex, elemental and intriguing, we were troubled by a lack of intensity in many of the bottles as well as by a sense of artificiality in some. As Florence put it, we found a great divide between those tequilas we liked

Review #227 - Calle 23 Tequila Blanco

Calle 23 is a fairly new kid on the block. The master distiller is a woman, Sophie Decobecq, who was a bio-chemist by trade and worked in South African agave spirits before moving to Mexico.
