Nice aroma with dried fruit, baking spice and caramel. Flavor opens with smooth spice, evolves with some green pepper heat and ends with bitter almond. Nice long finish. 2023-12-24 2023 Annual Christmas Eve XA Tasting
Wow. This is incredible. So many great flavors and aromas! And yet there is still plenty of deep, dark roasted agave. I like the 44.4 abv heat in the mouth and finish. Warm and so good. Bottle 642 at Baja Betty’s.
# 1714 Meh',needs additives
Nose: hints of cooked agave, dried fruit, raisins, orange citrus, light barrel notes, and sherry in the background Flavor: cooked agave sweetness, dried fruit, nuts, vanilla, caramel, salinity, and very well balanced, and nice mouth feel Finish: is long with some black pepper spice, barrel notes and hints of sherry
Don fulano 20 yr Tasted a sample Sept 16, 2023 Courtesy of Greg, Lou and Seattle Juan. Muchas gracias amigos for sharing! Nose: fruit agave bown sugar cinnamon, sherry comes thru on the nose, a little minerality. Not a lot of oak, which I like. Palate: mellow sweet agave, sherry. plums and a little pepper come thru as it opens. Well-balanced. Easy sipper! Color: light; looks like a reposado. Legs: are very nice, slow and thick Finish: sherry comes thru agin. dry with a warmth that lingers.
Super balanced on the nose an in the mouth. Better with some air. Fairly mellow, given the age. Can tell it’s 44%. It’s sweet. Not too sweet. Barrel. Not too much barrel. Caramel. But not too much caramel. The genius blenders at DF have pulled out all the stops here. A tequila worthy of their remarkable 20 year history.

From a sample bottle of about 3 ounces in size courtesy of Lou and Greg, gracias you two. Very nice nose right after the small bottle was opened and from the glass when poured. Tasting from a Glencairn Copita glass which has about a five ounce capacity. The sherry finish is very apparent on the nose and yet this also has a dryness that is upfront and really comes forward as the juice is sipped and held in the mouth for any length of time. Very cool stuff that reminds me of some sherry finish single malts I’ve tasted both from WA and other places. Nice tingly finish with some acidity that hangs on the tongue after much of the tequila elements have passed on. Bravo 1146 and Salud for Veinte Años.
I let it open up a bit before tasting. A bit light on the nose and also too dry for my liking. I'm hoping it will open up further each pour.
Nose: Dried fruits galore. Raisins, prunes, dates, figs and citron. Also fresh lime and orange citrus aromas. Candied nuts. A dusting of cinnamon. Passing hint of peat? Or smoke? mingling alongside the subtle sherry. Flavor: Plush and satiny on the palate, curiously coexisting with a burst of pepper heat. Nuts, salinity. Delicate vanilla and almond. Some tannins rest on the sides of the tongue. Fruit and agave still playing prominent roles. Take time to let the bouquet and flavors bloom. They really blossom and take on new dimension.
Honestly, on the nose, there’s definitely sherry, but also hints of pizza/Doritos. Sounds weird, but trust me. Try it, if not for the rarity, certainly for the novelty
Simply outstanding. Fantastic nose that blends agave, barrels, and lil sherry kick. Incredible mouthfeel. If you find it, buy it. I’m a blanco lover, but could sip on this all night. Tasting notes to follow …
Loved the nose on this naturally sweet sipper. The Sherry barrel definitely influenced this blended Anejo. Flavor profile was caramel, cooking spices, dried fruit and vanilla, with light agave notes. Full mouth fell. Definitely a late night sipper
This stuff is amazing, folks. If you see it, grab it. There are very few brands that can do Sherry Cask aging right, and this is one. Slightly higher alcohol means you should take it slow with this and enjoy the ride as it open up to reveal all of the complexity and layers that will emerge. A+++
Aroma: agave, oak, fruity Taste: agave, pepper, oak, caramel, raisin Finish is pepper and oak
Agave forward with the sweet sherry notes of raisins. Absolutely amazing Tequila even with the high price point. Perfect for an evening in front of the fire.
Absolutely beautiful tequila. Fruity and smooth, clear sherry notes without obscuring the agave. In my top 3 tequilas.
This is the best tequila I've ever had.
Could tell this was a sherry barrel, super good. Figs, dried cherries, apricots, agave. Super good. Loses points on value
Smells like caramel
Value was overpriced at a hotel. Charged $30. Would not pay for this again at that price point.
Gentle and elegant aroma, ripe fruit and baked caramel, balanced on taste. Long vanilla finish
Awesome flavor. Floral and no burn. Like this much better than blanco or high proof.
Hints of vanilla. Smooth with a warm finish. Great tequila!

The sweet sherry cask makes itself known, as does the pop from the higher proof. Fruity nose. Some raisin poking through the agave, bitter oak, and light caramel. I’m not usually a sherry cask fan but thankfully this didn’t overwhelm me. It’s generally overpriced but I got it for a good deal at a bar pour, and am happy I tried it.
