Very light pale nose. Had to bury my nose to pick out flavors. Some agave with some berries on the nose? Finish is nice with signature Fortaleza finish. Very easy to drink. I like it. It’s not complex but it is tasty

I still consider WB 19 the best of the WBs thus far. But this WB 22 has a little more complexity over the last 2 releases. My only beef is that there is hardly any linger... too short and fades fast. Also loss of points due to the way too high price point.

Fruity nose—with peach? Notes of cherry and almond stand out on the flavor. Only had one glass and will have to revisit my review when there’s more.

Very nice! Light chocolate aroma, agave, barrel spices. Sweet, rich, creamy mouthfeel. The taste is really where you get to see everything they did here. I find it hard to explain but you get a bit of every barrel and to me the finish is the most amazing part. It’s such a long delicious well blended finish.

Fortaleza Winter blend 2022 Lote 110 Sipping at Los Abuelos Bat Cave Nov 19, 2022 I will try this again and update my review as appropriate because there are some scents and flavors I couldn't articulate. Opens with some fruit notes and barrel spices. agave and oak are well balanced, brine/pickling spices, some peach, cherry notes, a little citrus, very light caramel, bubblegum (this is the word i use to describe a particular scent i get with some tequilas. It's similar to banana; it's a good thing). This is a very well balanced tequila. I believe this is  my favorite of the winter blends thus far.

Bottle # 11985 Nose: Pitted orchard fruits, mingling with the delicately spiced wine aromas. Nutty. Faint vanilla bean. A whiff of cigar smoke. Flavor: A complementary, balanced whisper of the oak barrels. Chile pepper and a dusting of white pepper. Buttery. Agave and almond creaminess. A bit of brine. Finishes with an interesting combination of dry elements, savory and sweet.

Wine notes shine, totally different than the past 3 yrs. Very balanced Reposado, nutty and sweet, aromas are amazing. Great finish

A beguiling mix of barrels that leaves a balanced and delicious final product. The French Oak former sherry barrels bring cheery, almond, clove, light chocolate, and a sweet wine sensation, while the Hungarian Oak offers a touch of jalapeño and orange blossom with a dry finish. The final WB has a fruit (cherry, peach) nose, a creamy butter taste, and spice on the finish as hints of each barrel shine through.

Nose - agave, butter, honey, vegetal, minty, Taste - black pepper warm lingering finish, orange, caramel/cinnamon, barrel notes - oaky and little vanilla

This was ok, I felt as though it had more barrel influence than it should. I’m not sure of the particulars of the barrel (I’ve forgotten) or the aging specifically, but it drank almost like an anejo and less like a reposado. Overall I felt as though the nuance of the agave was lost to the influence of the barrel. It’s far from bad, it’s good… just not as good as the regular Fortaleza Reposado which strikes a better balance.

Nose : Sweet inviting , vanilla , caramel , butterscotch , oak , fruity Taste : Sweet to fruity to a butterscotch flavor to a very different mix of complex oak flavors , finishes with slight pepper and agave , nice viscous consistency . Very complex for a reposado and one of my all time favorites .

Is it worth the hype? Yes, this is an outstanding Reposado. Depth and character of this repo shines beyond the traditional repo. Is it worth the market price increase? Well, only you can make that call.

Nose. Cooked agave. Butterscotch. Taste. Cooked agave. Crème brûlée. Burnt sugar. Citrus and olive oil. Nice medium finish with slight pepper. My least favourite so far but still rock solid. With the crazy prices maybe my last one. :(

LWB-R-04. Bottled on 29-09-2022. Color: very pale yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, grape-y aroma, white pepper, slightly acidic, light vanilla. Wood spiciness. 30 minutes in the glass the grapey aroma becomes very intense and sweet. Palate: good balance, wood spiciness, peppery, agave sweetness is barely noticeable. Minty. Sweet vanilla. Finish is medium to long, sweet vanilla, light agave notes and light wood spices persist.

Extremely sweet in the nose. Vanilla in the tongue with lasting spice throughout

Overall delicious and more different / stands out more than the 2021 (tasted side by side) but cask influence dominates the agave a bit too much for a reposado in my opinion, however this isn't your typical repo and the people who will search this out won't be expecting a typical repo. Nose: More cask influenced than the 2021, with sweet wine and French oak much more prominent, but still very well integrated with cooked agave. Palate: The sweet wine cask is dominant at first but dries out to more oak tannin quick. Definitely the maturation leads much more than the 2021. It's Fortaleza essence is still present though. Finish: Leaving waves of pepper and sweet wine, and peppery cooked agave and oak tannin.

Winterblend Reposado 2022 Lot LBW-R-04, Bottle 02570 The artistry in this reposado deserves high praise. It is a treat to sip this reposado. I will echo Michael Newman's review notes.

Great impact of sweet tokaji casks while not overpowering the cooked agave on a buttery mouthfeel. Nose: Cooked Agave, Caramel, Apricots, Sultanas, Honey, Pineapples, White Chocolate, Raisins, Lavender, Butter Cake, Figs, Lychees Palate: Apricots, Sultanas, Honey, Cooked Agave, Anise, Cinnamon, Fig Syrup, Raspberries, Butter Cake Finish: Cooked Agave, Honey, Apricot Syrup, Sunflowers, Lavender, Orgeat, Walnuts, Seville Oranges

Cost arm and a leg great barrel influence

Has a bitter taste to it that I just don’t like. I love the Still Strength blanco and just don’t care for the other elements in the Reposado. Definitely not worth the price. I know it’s well made but I would pass and stick with the blancos.

So good. But I hate that it’s so pricey. 2019 is still my favorite.

I am traditionally a daily whiskey drinker with the occasional barrel aged stout I have loved tequila but really venturing back into it so for me I need to ignore everything that has to do with whiskey and just concentrate on this being tequila...to me is very sweet the palate is very enjoyable and the finish is much shorter than a whiskey finish no burn whatsoever I will consider this excellent

tasted out of a norlan glass this time. aroma was much better
