Aroma is dominated by alcohol and a strange rubber/asphalt note (not good). There may be some orange/citrus but it is largely hidden. [With time (10 mins) the alcohol in the aroma settles down a bit and caramel is noticeable. But, the rubber/asphalt is still there.] Flavor is sweet from caramel and fruit with a bit of heat coming at the end. Also, a little of that rubbery off note shows up also. Finish is short and nothing about this tequila really lasts. For the price, definitely not worth buying. 09-21-2022

What the hell were they thinking?! This crap is horrible! Notes or cardboard and hand sanitizer! Furthur añejo from NOM 1414 got it right with the orange cask aging and is damn delicious! DJ primavera is undrinkable for me.

Surprisingly balanced, a light heavy on the mouth feel for an 8 month aged Repo. Definitely taste orange, caramel, slight cooked agave. Nice package, would score higher if not for the price. First impressions, I prefer this over their 1942 Anejo

Orange, caramel, vanilla, and agave. It’s labeled as a reposado but I’d say it’s much more like an anejo due to how rich the barrel flavors are. It tastes a bit more like a whiskey in a lot of ways, which sort of overpowers the agave. Not enough to make it unpalatable, but it defeats the point for me — I want agave to be the first flavor, not the last. It’s okay to sip, but not great. The more you sip it the more watered down it tastes. Maybe it’s good for people who don’t like tequila, but I feel like there’s better and cheaper ways you can achieve that, like drinking bourbon.

Citrus doesn’t sit right on the tongue.

On the nose: Oak with a good bit of Citrus, a some hints of Vanilla. Taste: Hits you with the Oak and Vanilla, the agave comes in after, and it finishes strong with the citrus. Good bottle and a bit of twist then what you would expect. If you liked this I would try Inspiro Rosa for a similarly light bright flavor.

Wood forward on the front, citrusy on the end. Agave is there. Very refreshing. Loses appeal when you realize there's way cheaper stuff that goes for a similar taste. Bummer price point holds this one back a lot. I guess I can recommend it if you have stupid money.

Best 1942 expression so far. Nice citrusy experience. Overpriced.

When that price is reduced to $60 it’s worth buying

It’s as if tequila and Grand Marnier had a baby. I started looking up what to mix with it because of this and then had to remind myself what this bottle cost. Even has the same lingering medicinal cough syrup vibe that Marnier has after the finish. Even if it was a quarter of the price I would not buy again.

Well there sure are a lot of nay sayers and poo pooers on this one, but I disagree. This has a very unique and pleasurable taste . It’s definitely quality and the unique orange wine barrels used really set it apart. Although as a sipper, I found it a bit bitter .

Aroma is okay. Initial taste was okay but as I took a few more sips the rubbery astringent taste starts to blend in. Not completely awful but not with the money for a full bottle.

It's sweet and delicious. From what I recall It's definitely sweeter than their standard reposado offering. Nothing like clase azul reposado artificial sweet though. Don Julio always does good stuff with addatives where other brands seem to fail. It has much of the classic Don Julio flavor profile with a hint of the citrus and maybe a little more vanilla and pepper than usual. Is it worth the money? Perhaps not at one hundred dollars. I got it at eighty and even then I'm unsure if it is worth it over the standard reposado or other additive free offerings. Glad I could try it though.

Really peppery after taste. Very different from its cousin 1942.

Great smell after it opens up: lots of citrus, overall, very pleasant and inviting. Flavor is just okay: it reminds me if citrus version of Don Julio Anejo, similar profile and a subtle tingly finish. I think it’s overpriced for what this is.

Some very light orange on taste and smell. The typical vanilla and caramel. A bit more alcohol than I was expecting. I thought it would an easier sipper. I sampled this at a restaurant for $10, but would not spend the money for a full bottle.

I find the rasp on this to harsh, the alcohol came through just a bit too much. I’d rather drink 70 or regular DJ anejo which both cost way less.
