Next to the XA and the Fuerte, this is my favorite DF, so far. The nose is invitingly sweet with plum, agave, vanilla and caramel. I get notes of chocolate and oak. The taste is sweet agave, French oak, vanilla and caramel. A touch of alcohol on the tongue. Dried fruit, butterscotch. Finish is a touch bitter. Alcohol lingers but settles in and lingers with sweetness. I recommend and I enjoyed this better than most 1146 offerings but not the ArteNOM which I prefer over this one.

Nose: cooked agave sweet / caramel/ vanilla / melon / orange peel / hay / tea / minerals/ touch of flora / nutmeg/ hint of chocolate/ honey/ Taste: cooked agave / pepper / vanilla/ oak / caramel/ banana/ lime / citrus / orange peel / spearmint/ tea / nutmeg/ allspice/ chocolate/ maple Finish: lightly viscous mouthfeel with a nice lingering sweetness / a bitterness that clears up near the last swallow/ This anejo has a lot of notes in the nose and taste if you really work to pull them out through multiple nose techniques and tastes, but an anejo shouldn’t have to work so hard to get the barrel notes out of the glass and into your brain. This is a good budget sipper if there isn’t anything better in front of you.

Small sample. Smells like French oak and cooked agave. Tastes like a lot of French oak and cooked agave. Some baking spices appear right before the finish. The finish is peppery.

Upon a good sniffing examination, discernible notes include molasses, a distinctive yeasty funk reminiscent of the 20th-anniversary release, very corked, oak, a hint of pepperiness accompanied by ethyl heat, subtle chocolate, walnut, and a faint tang of citrus. The sip and savor experience unfolds with prominent oak, the persistent presence of yeasty funk, notes of orange, maple, walnut, cherry cordials, agave, and a subtle undercurrent of pepperiness. Notably, the taste of ethyl is tamed by the dominance of these more pronounced flavors The finishing of the tasting journey is marked by the resonance of cooked agave, grassiness, and a fresh quality, accompanied by light minerality. A tingling pepperiness lightly lingers on the palate, gradually fading alongside the remnants of oak.

Wasnt feeling the newer bottle. Something just wasnt right. Not much agave, and strange sweetness. Surprisingly suspect from one of my fave distilleries NOM 1146.

Nice amber color with great legs in the glass. Aroma of oak, butterscotch and agave. Flavor of cooked agave, oak, caramel and black pepper. Others have mentioned a watered-down finish and I agree.

Aroma: Butterscotch, cooked agave, and cinnamon spice, hints of orange zest. Taste: Sweet across the tongue with a stronger taste of the agave and cinnamon. A nice viscous consistency. Finish: Slightly vegetal agave finish, with an accentuation of the cinnamon spice, with some Mexican chocolate flavor on the end. Overall: An amazingly good tequila that reminds me of the Código 1530 añejo in both aroma and taste, but with a different finish. Lots of flavor throughout, a new one to add to my favorites.

Very nice Anejo. agave notes on the nose comes through nicely. Wood comes through on the pallet but still retains the agave in the background. little bit of heat on the finish. I like it. Not enough to dethrone ArteNom 1146 but an excellent authentic Anejo

Aroma : Agave and baking spices alongside light oak and caramel. Taste : Sweet agave, butter, and vanilla meld with oak and some light black pepper spice with a well bodied texture. Finish : Long, and showcases the barrel flavors as the agave sweetness fades.

Deep amber color. Thick, oily body clinging to the glass. Initially I get sweet on the nose, caramel notes, which quickly moves to agave and and sweet candied fruit. Really enjoyable. Upon entry, it’s velvety with a round mouthfeel. I get tannins, vanilla and light butterscotch. Transitions to notes of agave and spices before ending with pepper and a knife enjoyable heat on the roof of the mouth. Finish is complex and enjoyable.

Butterscotch aroma. Earthiness. Nice barrel/baking spices. Round oak and anise flavors. Rich dried fruit notes. Subtle touch on the French oak, letting the other barrel influences share the stage. Lengthy delightful finish with subtle pepper undertones and butterscotch reemerges.

Aroma: Slightly oaky with hints of pepper and honey. Flavor: Oak flavor upfront and then a hint of vanilla and caramel. Finish: Long lingering finish that stats with a nice kick upfront.

Sweet aromas of caramel, vanilla and maple syrup. Flavor of sweet fruit and syrup. This one is so sweet it nearly makes your teeth hurt but is tempered (only slightly) by a trace of spicy heat. While it is enjoyable, this one is just too sweet for my taste. For those who say it can never be too sweet (you know who you are...) this may be just their cup of t - equila.

Good long finish with vanilla notes. Nose also has a nice caramel to it. All this makes it surprising that the flavor has a burn and not much complexity

Don Fulano Anejo - Tasting Notes NOM: 1146 Nose: * Faint * Butter * Chardonay Taste: * Maple * Agave Finish: * Super smooth mouthful. Short finish. Faint overall. Banana throughout the finish. Verdict: * Luxurious anejo, but a little monotonous. Great for the beginner, may be a little unexciting for the intermediate taster.
