Nose: agave / pepper / earth/ minerals/ slight fruitiness/ lime/ faint citrus / bell pepper/ sage / brine / alcohol Taste: cooked sweet agave / vanilla/ cinnamon/ earth / apple / melon / citrus / alcohol/ mint/ molasses/ cream soda Finish: the finish is sweet and a touch spicy/ the alcohol is all over the taste and nose, the finish is no different. There is a slight bitterness but the sweetness really overcomes it / nice simple slightly viscous mouthfeel….them alcohol. It’s the Jalisco hug! This high proof fuerte may just have too much alcohol to give this tequila a fair taste. The tastes are bold (a desirable high abv result), but it’s just too much alcohol to really make the effect work. This might be a completely different pour with 46%abv.

Tasted this blind for a Fuerte Friday. Nice viscosity with strong legs. On the nose I pick up earthiness, tobacco and a smell that I can’t quite place, maybe melon, but pleasant just the same. The taste follows suit but this one is not as agave forward as others in the flight I was tasting. It is earthy, with black pepper. The high ABV works well with this one and the finish is very nice without a lot of burn. I would recommend this one. Tasting this again (not blind). Just love this nose. Agave and cinnamon. I get citrus and minerals. It has some earthiness. Very nice nose. Viscosity is a nice oily feel and the finish is a great balance of flavors. The taste is as described in my blind. This is an excellent HP.

I was immediately hit with cooked agave, followed by butter, black pepper, olives and a touch of alcohol, probably due to the high proof. Flavor of cooked agave, black pepper, citrus and olive. Has a lovely, long finish.

Nose: Great sweet rich agave mixed with funk and depth. Earthy, fruit, cinnamon and grassy notes. Favor: Clean crisp, lemon, mild butter, which warms into a nice sweet agave vanilla and black pepper. Mild fruit. A solid and tasty high proof blanco. Definitely worth a try if you have the chance. Big fan of higher proof tequila as you tend to get a lot more bold flavor.

Though Don Fulano Blanco Fuerte is the original overproof, many challengers for the crown have arisen. The aroma is consistent with the rest of the line to me with nuttiness, earthiness, agave, and light ethyl that are all very subtle and clean. With partaking I find more ethyl on the palate and nasal exhale than I would’ve imagined but love the consistency of flavor that is found in this line. Anise, peppermint, earth, honey caramel and especially the cacao note that I always pick up in the DF line shines through with a peppery and agave finish that helps to cap this off. I feel that the overall taste hits the palate mildly and potent but fades away in about 7-8 seconds and then the ethyl on the palate needs to dissipate in order to enjoy finish.

Nose is bright, floral, fruity, some cheese, herbs, agave, light spices, bright notes, very nice, on tongue its bold! lot of funk, lot of flavor, very surprised at this, its really nice cause its unique, reminds me a tad bit of Fuenteseca, or a Caballito, really nice juice, esp for the price in 60s

Yeast, brine, olive nose—a little funky for me. Agave, alcohol, olive, cinnamon, citrus flavor. Long finish that’s fairly hot.

Musky, citrus rind, agave, pepper. Lingering burn due to high proof.

Tasted at Bowl of 'Zole fest 2022, didn't get bottle info. Agave, black pepper, citrus. Earthy, cinnamon and some mint. A solid high proof blanco, especially at $54. My favorite of all the Don Fulano line (yes, the Imperial XA is excellent, but not an everyday pour)

Super delicious and smooth—how do they do that? This might be the smoothest high proof Blancos I’ve had. It’s crazy drinkable with all of the good aromas and flavors of Don Fulano Blanco and more.

This high proof is really delightful. It has a certain primary brininess/cheesiness funk that doesn’t appeal to everyone, but in my opinion is done quite well in this expression. I have experienced when that is excessive, but I feel like they hit the note with this one. Once past that, I detect cooked agave and earthy notes that make this a standout.

Agave all day. Great sipper, at a great price for a high proof. Notes of black pepper, minerals and citrus. Alcohol is present but subtle, doesn't go down like a high proof.

I really enjoy high proof tequilas and this quickly has become a favorite. It's sweet with pepper mint and earthy flavors while maintaining the agave flavor. I really enjoyed this.

Aroma: Earth, melon. Agave, surprisingly coming after the earth and melon aromas. Citrus, Orange peel specifically. Good bit of ethanol. Palate: Cooked agave punch right to the face. Definitely some heat but not unbalanced at all. A touch of pear, first time I’ve ever noticed this in a tequila. A sweet fruit note on the back end that I can’t put my finger on. Very pleasant tequila that opens up wonderfully. Verdict: I recently revisited this and it’s just really solid stuff. I picked it up for $46 at a small place in San Diego and it is absolutely killer at that price. Very good stuff.

Fruity, well-balanced on the palate due to the blending of pot and coffey stills

Agave, black pepper, anise and citrus in the nose. Caramel, vanilla and some lactic funkiness as it opens up. Spicy pepper, agave, licorice, with some minty, bell pepper, brine/saltiness in the mouth. Nice lingering finish to this one. I like!

Lote: 100DFB18. Aroma: fruity, agave, jasmine, earth, black pepper, cinnamon, brine/salt, vegetal, passion fruit, and some smoke. Palate: cinnamon, white pepper, citrus, allspice, peppery, mint and green bell pepper. Finish: easy to sip, long finish, oily, tingle on front of tongue and esófagos with mint and cinnamon. Long silky legs and few pearls on glass.

This is now in my top 3 overproof blancos. The agave on the nose gets lost behind the alcohol but the taste makes up for it in every way. Aside from the obvious cooked agave there is some black pepper and cinnamon, melon, lemon, and some briney minerality. The finish remains complex and surpringly mellow on the alcohol heat. While not a Tequila I can recommend to everyone, it does bring a special kind of joy that only comes with experience and appreciation.

this 100 proof version from Don Fulano is outstanding. Like it better than their base blanco. Great agave flavors, citrus, balance. The heat doesn’t over power the rest of the spirit.

The aroma of the 80 proof blanco comes through here with stronger notes of earth and fruits. The agave still remains the center piece though. The mouthfeel is even more oily with more vibrant cooked agave and baking spices. The finish has a long pleasant heat, much like other high proofs. This is a delight to drink.

Fairly neutral in the nose, definitely doesn’t give away its agave nature. Loads of cinnamon, vanilla and agave going on, has a sharp decline on the finish that leads to a mellow aftertaste.

Tasted blind at Cantina De La O in GDL. Has the sweetness of Altos pinas, but the process and water that of El Valle. You can tell its high proof right away. That gives way to herbs, mint and citrus. Its more earthy than sweet, almost savory. Tongue feels oily with agave present with that of tarragon and thyme. I would love this blanco with a steak, actually. I enjoyed this a lot.
