Nose: agave cooked / vanilla / caramel / hint of cinnamon/ hint of earth/ banana/ apple/ orange peel / hint of lime / spearmint/ hay / tea/ baking spice / nutmeg/ molasses/ cream soda Taste: sweet cooked agave / vanilla/ caramel/ cinnamon/ peppermint/ earth and oak/ banana/ apple / lime / hint of orange peel/ anise/ tea / nutmeg/ baking spice / hint of chocolate/ molasses/ hazelnut/ salt/ hint of cream soda Finish: enjoyable cool water effect with watery wet mouthfeel/ sweetness throughout the whole taste, no bitter excessive oaky or earthiness, lingering agave sweetness and oaky light bitterness stay on until the rather abrupt final finishing swallow where there’s a light minty freshness This repo is quite good with lots of sweetness in balance with the slightly bitter finale that portrays that every taste isn’t in balance. The bitter sweetness doesn’t linger long and yields to a fast finish that’s enjoyable.

Nose: Good agave, oak at the start. Pepper, citrus with mild vanilla towards the backend. Subtle notes of grape skins as well. Flavor: Classic agave mixed with sweet vanilla and lemon pepper. Similar to the nose, grape skin also emerges. I’m surprised in a pleasant way with the heat build up with this repo. Reminds of the Kentucky hug in bourbon. Could be a good cold weather sip.

Out of the ET lineup, this one is good but not to the level of the blanco or Anejo. Taste is a little black pepper forward for me.

*Batch-009 bottled in 2020* The aroma has a commanding yeasty tobacco funk, harmoniously paired with notes of cooked agave, delicate raspberry, and a subtly faint ethyl presence. Hints of fig and light honey contribute to the complexity. Upon the palate, the flavor unfolds with cooked agave, reminiscent of bourbon or whiskey, nuanced notes of light vanilla, fruitiness, subtle butter, and a touch of white chocolate. The persistent yeasty tobacco funk is complemented by the addition of orange citrus, warm caramel, and toffee, with very subtle undertones of brininess. Into the dry down and finish, the fading bourbon notes are accompanied by caramelized agave, faint minerality, light pepper, and a subtle yet distinct oak presence. The oak influence lasts long enough for the agave freshness to reemerge during salivation, a nice lingering conclusion.

Very light amber in the glass. Aroma of cooked agave, oak and citrus. Flavor of cooked, black pepper and oak. Long finish with the pepper spiciness hanging around.

Olive oil bottle—The lot number is hard to read but I think it’s R-1024. I get floral white wine aroma, and taste of pepper, citrus, agave, bitter oak, and earth. Still has great legs after all these years.

On the nose, I get Agave and spices, like cinnamon or maybe even clove. I get a little vanilla but the agave is the star of the show. Black pepper, some tropical fruit. On the palate, Agave is ever present, I’m not getting as much black pepper as the nose suggests, personally. Definitely getting those nice spices, a little bit of citrus oil. Very full bodied and delightful to drink. El Tesoro through and through, a very honorable aging of the exquisite blanco. For $43 at Total Wine in SoCal, this scores major value points for me.

A wonderfully priced Reposado. I honestly think this is the quality of an añejo. Here in Southern California $38!!! Unreal!

Aroma of agave, light straw, light herbal/floral. Taste is of some definite oaking with carmal, pear, and agave notes. Still retains flavor profile remnants if the Blanco but doesn't seque into the anejo as much which helps it stand out more uniquely from those. Very light but full bodied.

The entrance is sweet with all its main components (agave, herbaceous, citrus & light fruity notes), no wow factor The finish was not what I expected, lactic & briny/salty.

Aroma: Vegetal, with notes of sweet cooked agave. Slight citrus and vanilla. Taste: Smooth and slightly sweet and peppery across the palate, with light flavors of cooked agave and vanilla. Finish: Clean finish, with spice, sweet cooked agave and black pepper. Overall: An excellent, clean tasting reposado that leans more towards being a blanco.

How tequila is supposed to taste. Agave from start to finish with a great balance of citrus and caramel. Easy to drink with just a touch of spice I find in all El Tesoro expressions. Love this repo.

Aroma : Tropical fruits and cooked agave predominate here. There are some undertones of vanilla. Taste : Black pepper and spiciness with tropical fruits here as well. There is a minimal amount of agave and butterscotch. Finish : Medium length that prolong the taste notes but with more sweetness and less spice. This is a fairly unique Reposado. Here you trade off more traditional oaky notes with fruity ones.

Nice aromas, I don’t know if I’m the only one that has a strong banana up front. Nice supper

A favorite Reposado of mine where the agave really shines through with oak and roasted agave notes.

Light in color with strong agave, earth and anise aroma followed by fruit, alcohol, smoke, butterscotch and honey. Flavor is very peppery, spicy, and citrus with hints of earth, wood , smoke and caramel. I think this is a complex tequila that deserves a careful look. Finish is peppery with anise, spices and earth with hint of vanilla. Oily taste lingers after finish.

Amazing earthy nose, makes you wanna jump in and take a swim. The only critique I have is that it fades off my palette too fast, I wish it was a tad punchier. This would be epic as an over proof!

Nose: Vanilla, pineapple, bright agave, a trace of ripe cheese and a hint of earthiness. Flavor: Peppery with baking spices and fruitiness. Some butterscotch notes and anise. Lote 004, new bottle revision. Just not quite up to snuff. An almost stale almond taste. Missing the old bright notes in nosing and on the palate.

11 Things We Think We Know About Reposados

Until recently, we hadn’t cared much for reposado — tequila that has been aged in oak barrels from 2 to 12 months. It seems too middle-of-the-road: like blanco (no barrel aging) without the bite, añejo (aged for longer than a year) without the flavor. But
