not bad but much better options available for lower price

The nose is the best part. I detect fresh agave and bright citrus. It’s clean. I taste the agave and some pepper. The finish is short but clean. This is a non offensive tequila but it lacks depth and complexity. I have visited their distillery so I know that they make tequila in the traditional way and they strive for superior quality.

This one falls a little flat for me. Nothing really stands out. Overall nice for a mixer but there are better tequilas for the price.

Great package and marketing, Gets points for getting us to move away from mixto. I think we can find so many other fine blanco’s at a lower price point. A very distinctive flavor profile, that has mass appeal. I guess if we were doing chilled shots, I wouldn’t mind.

Tequila is done well and balanced but is simple and overprice. I personally like tequilas with more agave and a good body.

Let’s get this out of the way......I fucking LOVE this company and doors they have broken down to allow me to sit back and try a million tequilas! I’ve always been a fan of the silver, it’s consistently delicious and available anywhere. This product is a little too clean to rate as elite for my palette, the finish is the weak link.

Olfato: Fruity: Citrus and pineapple, floral, peppery, nuts and with caramelized agave. Gusto: Pepper heat, light anise, citrus, cinnamon and cooked agave. All a bit muted. Finishes with lingering pepper, floral notes and sweet agave. A bit of bitterness. I like this more than I anticipated.

subtle caramel in a blanco? yes along with cooked agave, citrus and a hint of vanilla. the aroma is easy like a Sunday morning. black pepper front, a little shocking given the smoothness of the nose. 5 second buttery finish eases to pepper, oak, caramel and vanilla. sipper, but not all night long.

Oily green agave nose and flavor. Pepper, citrus and alcohol are also present in a mild and short finish. A modest blanco at a premium price.

Very pleasant all around. But perhaps a bit light for my tastes?

Some agave sweetness and citrus initially. Spice on the tongue along with some alcohol numbing. Moderately long finish. I will say that the Roca Patron is very tasty being tahona ground and higher proof.

Aroma: This is a little mellow. It has a slight hint of cooked agave as well as an earthy quality (almost like clay). Flavor: There are notes of agave and pepper. This has a slightly briny quality. That is left on the finish. Finish: Again, like the aroma, it's pretty mellow but definitely has a stronger finish at the back of your mouth.

Patron deserves credit for bringing high quality tequila to the mass market, but they tend to get bashed a lot these days. Undeserved, if you ask me. Patron Silver is actually pretty good, and being a huge brand they do a better job than many other small batch brands on the market. The one thing that took points off of my score has to do with some inconsistency from bottle to bottle. Not that every batch should taste exactly the same, but I really should have a good feel for what I'm going to get out of a bottle.

Let this be a gateway tequila that lets you forget your bad Cuervo experiences, gives you the confidence to ditch the syrupy mixers, and start exploring the many wonderful artisanal options available. Had to come back and adjust my rating after a blind tasting. Not a bad sipper for such high production volumes.

Patron gets bashed a bit too much for its obvious success. I think it is a decent blanco, although somewhat overpriced (I purchased a 375 for $15, so it was not too pricey). 2010 bottling.

Patron always feels to me like a really good tequila (also additive free) that has lost its goodness over time. Everything I expect to be there is there but in an underwhelming way. Also not the best value, though I guess if you’re just getting into tequila a very solid option?

Barely any agave on the nose- like when you have a stuffy nose and hard to smell anything . Sweet initial taste - a little vanilla, a little citrus…maybe. Not offensive but stripped down of the agave flavor you’d want in a blanco. Hollow mouth feel, Finish tapers off quickly and falls flat. Doesn’t make me crave more. Overpriced for what you’re getting; to me it tastes like watered down tequila. I’d rather drink vodka if I wanted a neutral spirit, and a whole lot cheaper.

Blanco Tequila: The Great Divide

While the panel’s favorites were complex, elemental and intriguing, we were troubled by a lack of intensity in many of the bottles as well as by a sense of artificiality in some. As Florence put it, we found a great divide between those tequilas we liked
