TMM additive free blanco blind tasting Kit Aroma: somewhat fruity. Reminds me of peach, apricot, and grapefruit. There's a bit of a yeasty note. Also a little bit of spice. There's some grass/hay. Flavor: a little bit of green apple tartness with a hint of cooked agave sweetness. It's very subtle. There's also some green pepper, minerality, and earthiness. Very easy to drink. Minimal burn. Really soft texture. Short finish.

Tasted blind. Nice bright notes great with lemongrass, agave, and a slight white pepper pop. Extra points for value. Surprising I rated this high blind.

Nose: Soft aroma, nothing in particular is overpowering here. Notes of fresh agave, lemon zest, and geraniums. Hint of cherry leading to an overall enticing aroma. Palate: Contains an interesting sweeter profile, drinks easy - not much heat on the forefront. A rather dry, mouth-coating mouthfeel. Notes of asparagus, hay-straw, dried apricot, and agave. Finish: Nice, fairly elongated finish. A touch of a lactic presence here as well. The notes of dusty agave, and dried fruit like but less sweet here- like raisins and black tea.

Very slightly malolactic on the nose Wet stone, rubbing alcohol, and a hint of sweet vanilla & honeysuckle Light and metallic taste a wet dry stone. Lacking a distinct characteristic that is would latch onto

I was surprised by the overwhelming herbal and earthy notes in Arrete’s blanco. Maybe the subliminal message of the horse got to me, but the aroma reminded me of a farm and the taste reminiscent of an herbal tea. I can’t say it’s bad, but not my cup of tea (pun intended).

Aroma has come cotton sheets out of the dryer with sugar cookie and acetone. Mouth feel is soft, with raw agave predominating alongside a distinct chlorine note and some residual sweetness.

Good value proposition, I recently realized I hadn’t rated this while sipping it so as good time as any. It probably is the expression I like the least in the lineup but it is still very good both as a mixer and for sipping.

lots of citrus - papaya, banana, green apples while a little thin in mouth, overall, very pleasant, some of the fruity sweetness stays in mouth "mellow" after-burn, heat stays in throat

Had to rate again! Tasted a bottle from the '90s! Totally different profile from the current expression. I wish they had lot #'s. I rated the current expression an 83.

On the nose, agave, and lots of floral/fruity notes. It’s got a salty aroma, and I’m getting something that is almost like banana. Very interesting. On the palate, Sweet, floral and fruity right off the bat. Definitely cooked agave, but it’s mixed in the floral and fruity medley. Very soft, tasty. Not a ton going on, but very easy drinking. A little anise on the finish. Very little heat. I am kicking myself in the ass for not forking out the extra $4 to get the 1L. This is rock solid, and amazingly priced at $22, which I paid in a random liquor store in San Diego. This is the cheapest sipper I’ve ever had, and I think it’s gonna be a damn good mixer if I go that route. Superb, definitely grab a bottle if you’re interested in a neat budget bottle that drinks way above its price.

Excellent for the price. Must have in the collection. 2024 | Updating with notes. Interesting agave nose and decent palate. I still like it and I can definitely see the comments regarding the wetness. It’s a solid budget bottle.

Aroma : Cooked agave, light fruit, pepper and earth. Somewhat floral. Taste : Agave, pepper and citrus. Also some light cinnamon, and slightly hot. This is fairly light in oils. Finish : Medium length with higher emphasis on peppery spice, there is some cinnamon here too.

Takes a minute to build up but nice agave and green pepper corn notes, finish lingers on without end. Gotta say this is a complete bargain for the price.

Nose: Light colored fruit and agave start. Followed with pepper, an herbal and a floral note, and earthiness. Flavor: Vanilla, cinnamon and a hot pepper blast. On the “rustic/macho” side. Finishes with pepper and hints of grapefruit rind. A Jackfruit tang finish.

The first time I tasted Arette was at the Tijuana Tequila Expo in 2005. After tasting somewhere around 50 blancos (although my mouth felt like it was a thousand, as it was in my early days of tequila tasting), Arette was one of only 2 brands that I was blown away by, on that day. Ever since, I have had a fondness for Arette! And while I may not find their blanco to be overly complex these days, it has has some nice machismo-ness to it, a good finish, and a singular taste that helps it stand apart in the vast sea of tequila brands.
