A newer release than the añejo I rated, this XA comes in a nice presentation box. Very bourbon forward with some brown sugar, caramel, sweet agave and some alcohol. Similar to many products from the 2010-2 time frame, which is not really a negative per se but the product in that category is mostly forgettable and interchangeable. meh.

Bottle is at least 10-11 years old and has a pour meter built in. This has an overall mustiness that I don't care for. No alcohol seems to have evaporated due to the meter but at only 1/3 full for some years, bottle oxidation becomes a suspect. The underlying tequila is ok but it seems as if the oak elements from the aging are affected. This actually makes me wonder if some of the many products from 1472 during the mid to late 00s were added to and not all flavor was derived from a barrel. Hmmm.

I like this more than the reposado though it seems to have been manipulated as the reposado was for mouth feel. Some agave and natural sweetness that fades to a bit of alcohol buzz. A note here to state that there is a pretty widely distributed version of this blanco that is a mixto and probably what some other raters tried. I am rating the 100% agave Dos Manos.

An older bottle as seen in the picture with the beaded wrap. Pretty easy to sip and like many of the older NOM 1472 releases this has some nice barrel notes of oak and spice with hints of agave. Quite viscous this would seem to have some added glycerin which it has been rated down for. Literally a wall of tears down the side of the glass.
