Harvested June 2023 Batch #1 42% ABV Slight prickle on initial nasal impact with sweet and bright citrus. Aroma leads with honeysuckle, fresh orange peel, lime, white pepper and brine. The deep well water shows up with some mineral peaking through. Buttery mouthfeel with sufficient+ alcohol (at 42% ABV). Palate checks plenty of boxes quickly: cooked agave, honeysuckle and orange peel highlighted with a briney note immediately dominate. Lime, white pepper, butter, celery , cinnamon and a slight hint of the oak barrel it rested in for 14 days. A long white pepper finish where honey, brine, citrus and some spearmint linger. I'm getting some limestone on the finish as well. I was fortunate to have tasted four other samples in Tlaquepaque with Oscar Vazquez Camarena in Sept '23 before he launched this final (and best) version. A really great blanco that is very unique compared to other blancos.
A rested blanco that brings out a subtle barrel flavor with agave and sweetness. The finish was great and definitely one I would sit and sip all night with.
Heavy brine on nose and a lot of vegetal on the palate with bitterness on the finish
Cooked agave, a touch of sweetness, light white pepper, slight nuttiness most likely from being rested for 14 days in barrel
Winner in my book. Tons of cooked agave in nose and taste. Not an overpower punch of heat. Well balanced
