Love the nose. A touch of 1599 funk. Cooked agave and butterscotch. A little caramel and vanilla barrel notes. On the tongue I get agave, citrus and earthiness. Malolactic funk that I love. I get caramel and a touch of butter and honey. The finish is a touch bitter. I love Valor blanco and this is good but not quite where the blanco is at. This is a first pour and I will be revisiting this one to see how it opens up.
Nose: lactic / earth / mineral/ agave / herbal / vegetal / banana/ faint hint of lime / floral/ salt Taste: agave sweet cooked / pepper/ earth / anise / vanilla / banana/ apple / lime/ anise / spearmint / cream soda Finish: watery wet with only a hint of viscosity/ agave sweetness carries through the whole taste/ some cinnamon and pepper notes linger on the sides of the tongue/ a spicy cinnamon finish This blanco has a lot going on and it’s complexity will thrill some, while the lactic and weak nose and lack of any singular or individual significantly bold flavors on the tongue make this tequila good, but not a superstar pour. Enjoyable if you like the lactic ‘funk’ in your pour.
Currently one of my favorite blancos. I am a fan of malolactic and this one has just the right touch for me. The nose is earthy with a mineral and brine aroma. Nice cooked agave on the nose. Taste has plenty of agave. It is very clean and has a bit of honey and baking spices. The mouthfeel is just right being not too thin and not too oily. Another winner from 1599
