Caramel, cinnamon, light vanilla, funky nose opens up. Light sweetness, barrel notes and cooked agave.
Nose: Citrus, Floral, Anise, Lactic, Cinnamon Almond, Oak, Yeast Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied Palate: Citrus, Minerality, black Pepper Finish: Vanilla, Citrus, Walnut, Vegetal, Honeysuckle Lovely new offering from Valor! This brand comes from a great distillery and it is definitely going places!
Beautiful honey golden brown color in the beautiful bottle - on nose: amazing, honey, lemon, caramel, agave, an awesome balance of sweet/rich/floral notes + some light barrel notes but nothing over powering, this is a valor anejo competitor on the nose. On the pallet, its a bit light/thin, but tasty agave, honey, lemon notes again, /some baking spice, all in all awesome juice, i wish it was a hp/more oily mouthfeel personally, but still a very good buy if you even see it! Solid sipper
This was a sample bottle sent to me by Valor. The official bottle will be released soon and when it does I will buy that one and give this an official rating. I am a 1599 fan and Valor is one of those 1599 tequilas that I really favor, especially the blanco. Now this Anejo is in my glass and I must say my initial impression is that they have a real winner with this one. The nose has a slight touch of the 1599 funk profile but it blends so nicely with the sweet agave and barrel notes. I pick up a nice aroma of vanilla and caramel. Earth and minerality also come through The taste is so nice with just a touch of the malolactic flavor and it is wrapped in agave sweetness. I also get flavors of butter and cinnamon. Very nice mouthfeel and the finish is clean with nice viscosity. Can’t wait for this one to hit the shelves! After getting the official release, I like this even better. I bump my score up a point.
Had the pleasure to meet Christiane ,brand owner of Tequila Valor. She is an amazing and charismatic person ! on the nose : agave and oak foward . light butterscotch and dry fruit on the palate: agave, oak vanilla and a little mix lf butter and cinnamon. long finish, very lightly settling. very well balanced añejo. i see this as a delicate fancy sipping
woody. oak. little caramel. sawdust but not in a bad way.
Bottle No. 56/606 Lote No. VCA/824 Aroma: Agave, oak, vanilla, caramel, & honey Taste: Agave, caramel, cinnamon, floral Finish:well balanced long lingering vanilla, cinnamon, & floral notes. $110 very balanced Anejo
beautiful gold color. not getting much on the nose at all. legs are very viscous. taste honey bomb, reminds me of a sauterne. now getting a little agave on the nose and in the finish.
Nose: Sweet delicious agave aroma, fruity—caramel Taste: smooth, light sweet agave, light earthiness/spices!
This is become one of my favorite Anejo’s The nose is great I get some nice cooked agave a nice punch of caramel a little bit of that 1599 funk The taste is has a great cooked agave very mineral fruity flavor with some barrel flavors of caramel and a little vanilla The finishes a little bit warm which I really like spicy and a spice that I can’t put my finger on Fantastic
Aroma: lactic, honey nice aroma. Taste: initial taste I get cinnamon than it goes to a butterscotch caramel taste. Reminds me of a crème brûlée, flan type dessert. Nice viscosity and the finish is delicious and long. 42% abv works well with this one.
Nose is wonderful honey, caramel and butterscotch. Taste is cooked agave, honey, caramel and hint of lemon. The glass was a Chisholm Standard Proof Jarrito.
42% abv., Lote No. VCA/824, acquired recently, tasted on 12-20-24. Color: yellow. Aroma: light cooked agave, light fruitiness, hint of acidity, hint of wood note which becomes slightly more noticeable as time goes by, hint of resinous sweetness. Light lactic note. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance, hint of pepper spiciness, medium to thick mouthfeel. Finish is medium to long, light cooked agave, light fruitiness with a hint of resinous sweetness persists.
Valor known for its high prices (which have come down significantly recently!) and malolactic funk (which I’ve come to love so much). The blanco has been my favorite but now this añejo has been released and we had the chance to try it with the owner Christiana… and what can I say. This anejo just brings it all to the table with an incredible flavor and finish that you never want to end. One of my favorite añejo’s at the moment and will likely be picking up a second bottle. Flavor notes: Butterscotch, light cinnamon, vanilla, caramel, some fruity notes as well. Finish: Long lasting

Wonderful aroma with just the slightest funk that I love from NOM 1599. Butterscotch, cinnamon, and cooked agave that’s really well balanced.
